Miss.Cambodia Costumes For Miss.Universe!
I don't know a thing about fashion but your sketches are quite creative.
It would be nice to see Cambodia compete in international beauty pageants. I hope they do and wear your designs some day. Good luck and please keep reading this forum and posting. Your points of view would be interesting reading on here.

The costumes apsara dancers wear aren't the national costume though, sorry. Apart from the king and his court nobody ever saw them.
Cambodia's national costume is a blouse and a sampot.

That pic doesn't look all that bad but that guy is scary though lol but I'm not going to click that link you gave me because I have a feeling I won't like what I see.unperson wrote:Reahu.net was the first Website to be blocked in Cambodia...although it seems to be back up and running as of now http://www.reahu.net ....that was soon followed by http://sacrava.blogspot.com/ (you may need to go through a proxy server like http://www.hidemyass.com , as that one is still blocked) and of-course http://ki-media.blogspot.com/ which is still blocked along with a few other websites, despite the government denying that they have ordered sites critical of it to be blacklisted.
Here's a related article about Reahu: http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/investi ... seeing-red
Here's a less controvesial painting of his for you Asian Girl, not quite up to your high standard, but not too bad, you'll perhaps agree?
Thank you! But yup same here I want to see Cambodia compete in international pageants also and yeah I hope to see designs like these worn at the pageant. I'll make sure to keep posting but more drawings will be on the way soon!Soi Dog wrote:I don't know a thing about fashion but your sketches are quite creative.

It's still a national costume regardless and it don't matter if no one has ever seen them because things changes overtime and we can still take inspiration from the past and make it innovative and modern. But I know that's Khmer's national costume but in Miss.Universe they want to see innovation, uniqueness while still having that element of your own culture in it. Look at Thailand's' national costume in miss.universe they create different costumes each year and won awards and it doesn't have to be what they wear all the time. Costumes can be made from scratch and designed for Miss.Universe competition. They want to see costumes that people won't wear on the streets.SunSan wrote:The costumes apsara dancers wear aren't the national costume though, sorry. You must be a loser who isn't Khmer that is jealous that Cambodia has such beautiful national costumes that has potential to win best national costume award in Miss.Universe if designed in real life by a professional or a troll or even a person who don't want to see beautiful Khmer girls be successful and proud of their beauty, culture and country!vladimir wrote:dumb and dumber

You should be grateful that your thread received constructive criticisms. The problem with some of the North American-Khmer posters is that they are used to being pampered, self-congratulating one another on their little paradise websites, e.g. her other threads in other websites, poster A: wow your paintings are beautiful, poster B: oh I really love that dress, very very beautiful. (I can point to a few). And most topics usually revolved around of "what are you having for breakfast," "good Pho restaurant in Long Beach" year on end.........fun indeed!
Everyone bow down and pay extreme homage to his Majesty flying chicken.

Any criticisms or comments is appreciated but I told you I'm not a professional artists and instead of worrying to much about details and drawing skills focus on the idea I was trying to get across. It is possible to make these drawings look professional on a fashion design program or 3d software's like what those Thai designers do when they design sketches for Thai costumes for Miss.Universe. But I'm not a professional at that and if anyone who is skilled at that they can use these drawings and make it professional if they want to. If it wasn't for my creativity then Khmer culture will still be clueless or even extinct, flying chicken wrote:You should be grateful that your thread received constructive criticisms. You're talking like a 5 year old, sorry, that's an insult to 5 year olds. No culture.... My personal ethnic cultural background predates yours by a few thousand years missy.Asian Girl wrote:who aren't Khmer who have no culture or are jealous that they don't have good ideas like me.

i like the look of miss lay in the middle, but miss ngim next to her has bigger chest. so, i'm undecided as whom i should vote for. but both need extra whitened creme though, i think.

Is that a beauty pageant or horror show? Step out your front door in Phnom Penh, and you'll see 5 better looking lasses within 30 seconds.Master Donut Baker wrote:i like the look of miss lay in the middle, but miss ngim next to her has bigger chest. so, i'm undecided as whom i should vote for. but both need extra whitened creme though, i think.
