Memoirs of a Grizzled Expat (1)
I could write a much more exciting book than anyone here having been on the dark side for many years in bangkok in the distant past.
But I cant, as everyone involved is still alive.
And we all swallowed.

I waver between intrigue as to what and revulsion as to what.ken svay wrote:And we all swallowed.
I think it's a shame that someone can be pushed to upload a scan of his degree on a public forum just because others make accusations without providing any evidence. Reminds me of Donald Trump's dumb attempt to question Barack Obama's U.S. citizenship. In the end Obama had to publish his birth certificate, too. I just find it even less justified in Andy's case, because for all I know, he doesn't hold a public office.

It hasn't really started yet - part 1 was just a background/contextual introduction. Bear in mind it's written for the front-page readership, not the 'grizzled' forum readers. To be honest I can't remember what comes next - need to re-read the journal myself over the next few days.Chuangt2u wrote:Andy, mix it up some.
Comes across as a little, ermm, twee.
General note:
Signing off now; I have a pretty busy workload and may not be able to check in often and respond to comments. My intention was just to put the articles out there and not follow up with self-justifications or whatever. I'm not touting for a publishing contract or attempting to promote myself for any reason. I'm not at all bothered if some people don't enjoy them. The admin can monitor the hits and if he feels they are not serving his purpose he can ask me to stop or change what I write.

Everyone's a critic see,
Tweedledum and Tweedledee
Had to check the dictionary.
Far better to keep it twee.
Peace out with a cup of tea.

Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.
Um, who can help me Photoshop the name and date? I need to revamp my CV a lil...andyinasia wrote:Just back from business meetings - got a life and all that, old chap.KL&fool wrote:The inveterate liar, aia, hasn't responded. Is it because he's too good?
No idea why you raise this, but if you really need the evidence:
And there is rests. Any other issues with vlad and his aggressive inferiority complex, and with his associates will go unanswered by me. I was asked to write about this; I have no agenda to promote and stated my motives openly. If some people can't accept that, they are free to skip my articles. I won't be responding to them.

The btiching is over, so I'll enter.......jokes welcome from that phrase.
Andy, please expand on your bad experiences in Nepal and Thailand in the do good volunteer sector, as a warning to others who have yet to arrive. You have something therewhich is worth an article or 2.

I'd be happy to, but not on the front page of the KHMER 440 website! If you dig around, I did make a thread last year where I posted long extracts of my experiences in Nepal, although maybe not the parts you ask about. Maybe if there's more demand I could make a thread in the 'Not Cambodia' forum. Actually in my early months in Phnom Penh (and Sihanoukville) I was actively seeking out organisations caring for vulnerable children and used my prior experience to eliminate a few. I'll probably cover this in further articles; the tricky bit is doing so in a way that doesn't reveal the identities of the guilty and leave the admin exposed to a lawsuit!

I thought it was a thriving business in Bangkok punching out documents for every degree and diploma imaginable.
