A warm welcome back to the 440 front page for Andy in Asia and here's the first part of an autobiographical series. Part 2 will be posted later on in the upcoming week.

Vladimir, surely this massive chip on your shoulder re Andy is getting as tiresome for you as it is for everyone else. Same goes for your little friend KL as well.
It’s clear to everyone what all this is about. Look, everyone is truly sorry that Andy actually went to school and stuff, honestly. Now that you and your new sidekick have had a big old fucking cry about it, isn’t it time you both moved on?

Udon and Nongkai are the same fore me, But indeed Nongkhai have a nice marked, Some good restaurants on the seaboard close to the few bars behind and the always busy Chino-Thai owned restaurant on the main road, A German restaurant, And a cosy guest house with air-con bungalows close to the above mentioned. Also the hotel opened some years ago close to this German restaurant with Riverview
But I find it quit rare that some people resides in Nonghkai always stay in Udon.
May be I will visit Nongkhai again when back in Phnom-Penh, It is easily to reach.
Just a international flight from Phnom-Penh to Vientiane, As a Belgian I will stay a night over to visit the famous Belgium restaurant&bar with Belgians culinary food&beer toppers, To continue my way next day passing the friendship Bridge where I turn left direction city.
As a Non-Belgian it could be simple as this, Phnom-Penh > Vientiane > Crossing bridge and be in Nongkhai in about 7 hours included airport transportation to&from, immigration and crossing bridge fore around 200US$.
Seems better as taking the train

Maybe it's just me, but aren't memoirs/autobiographies published by "famous" or "noteworthy" people who are either in their twilight years and need a bob or two to get by or they feel that their "fame"is diminishing and need more publicity for something forthcoming ,and not by English teachers who are middle-aged and think they have a story to tell.keeping_it_riel wrote:A warm welcome back to the 440 front page for Andy in Asia and here's the first part of an autobiographical series. It's true that AiA seems to have an interesting story to tell but I would think the same applies to many if not all of us here. This is just like a "hey look at / listen to me" and belongs to "down the boozer" tales told amongst by friends. It's my opinion, if others disagree that's cool and there's no need to go ballistic.
k440, something to do when you're pissed.

To be perfectly honest, I would far rather read an article by Horace or even MM or Franzjaeger about his life: less bullshit, and probably better written, with no apologistic crap/politically-correct/self-advertising gumph. We seldom agree, but that doesn't mean he/ they doesn't/don't have something interesting to say, that most people would be very interesting in reading. A poll, perhaps?
