F***** theiving c****
Just rented a moto (Suzuki Smash 2006) from 'New New' motorbike rental shop on Moniving. Parked it downstairs in a locked apartment and bike all locked up. Next morning some c*** is off with it. Now I owe the company $850. Nice! Now I can get down to overtime TEFLING, and haggling with motodops everyday just to pay for the fucking thing.
Got a rake of cop mates, and have put a bounty on the jow's head. We had a video (very clear of him), but the owners deleted it by accident. Now I just have a few crappy still shots of him. Cops reckon he is part of a wider grorp of similar cocksuckers, and followed me home. BTW, no locks were broken.
BE careful!
As you can see he is a trustworthy looking sort of fellow. Everybody tells me this is a barang - but doesn't look like it to me.
*EDIT* I watched the entire video with the owners, and at one point he stares directly into the camera and freaks a bit. Then he calmly straps a bandanna to his face so he won't be recognized - smart guy!

I was there in their apartment watching the damned video. They were recording stills of it for me, and were more than happy to let the cops come and view it. However as they tried to download it onto USB, they hit erase. The guy didn't have a clue how to work the system, and couldn't speak English. I cringed when he hit the erase button as the video was crystal clear.vladimir wrote:If you believe that, you're stupid.Tug Speedman wrote:but the owners deleted it by accident.
I've also kept motos in the same apartment for months before (bigger, more expensive ones) without a problem.
First off, I'm guessing there's a 99% chance that video can be recovered off the media it was recorded on.
And a 50/50% chance it wasn't deleted by accident, and a 80/20% chance the cops or the "owners" have something to do with this.
That sucks either way! !

Yeah it's weird. So many suspects. But the owner phoned my GF and me to come down and get the video footage. He knew how to get the snapshots, but the video process wasn't easy as there were so many options (.264 /mpg4 encoding etc) plus they system didn't recognize the USB device. The dude was teetering on a stepladder translating through my GF to ask me what to do. He even gave me the remote.cambod wrote:First off, I'm guessing there's a 99% chance that video can be recovered off the media it was recorded on.

But anyway, yeah it does suck. When I get another bike, it will be kept in the $1000 riel or whatever per night lock-up down the street, the ones where you get a receipt and have 24 hour guards.
Yeah, I'm guessing the owner isn't the one to be pointing fingers at.
Get your girlfriend to post "wanted dead or alive with reward" posters with his pretty face right around your block. Then, see which prick takes them down. Was definitely someone who watches you and your house every day.

Well now I can't complain about my shoes anymore. My 15 minutes of fame are officially over. This seriously blows, but as Cambod says, print out a whole bunch of these pucs and post them around. Offer a reward for the bike or him.

So he stole the rental bike, but left the other one there?

Does he happen to bear a passing resemblance to any employee of 'New New'? Pop down and take a look.

And while you're at it, get someone to check if your bike is back on rent out the front there. I'm not kidding either, I've heard a ton of stories about rental places nicking the bikes they've hired out and then charging for the huge value they put on these things.andyinasia wrote:Does he happen to bear a passing resemblance to any employee of 'New New'? Those who begin coercive elimination of dissent soon find themselves exterminating dissenters. Compulsory unification of opinion achieves only the unanimity of the graveyard.
