Sarsfield, although a hero in Ireland, was Anglo-Norman. His great nephew became Lord Lucan, and later the peerage went through some fairly unconnected stages. In Ireland, these people are not thought of as Irish, but as Anglos, I know plenty of them myself. I doubt very much that George Bingham (Lucky Lucan) ever spent a minute in Ireland, he was too busy gambling at the Claremont, before he got carried away with a hammer and disappeared to Africa. Bingham is not in any way an Irish name, and although I get your point I don't believe anyone thinks of the family as Irish. I'm Irish myself, although my father's ancestors spent quite some time in England, so the bog-trotters comment was only meant as a joke.

Ha Ha. Whenever my wife asks me what I've gotten up to when I've went out with the boys I sing:scoffer wrote:I had at least 5 or 6 favorite walkabout memories - but I was so drunk I forgot them.
So is it still a memory if you forget them
Or just another night out you cannot remember ?

Although I'm sure that nothing like this video ever happened......
Oh wait!
Truckin', got my chips cashed in
Keep truckin', like the do-dah man
Together, more or less in line
Just keep truckin' on

So youngwill when bored will resort to KTV with a few local guys.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

Heading to PP next month to get my visa renewed.............
I see the is as a challenge.... I am old and fat, wear loud shirts with tropical patterns. Is this the right outfit?
Does this experience involve blood, robbery, cheating and lying...? Or is it just a straight out experience to bang the ugliest and get ripped off the most.
Is there a score card?

I was not going to reply as nothing interesting has ever happened to me in walkabout.. its actually been boring both times.. but as most of the posts are not actually about wb memories and events but banter and drivvle..
once I did actually have a "lady" come and try to talk to me.. the conversation went like this..
Her: what you doing?
Me: having a quiet drink..
Her: ok.. (she then turned around and went back to the other side of the bar.. If I could harness this power and somehow turn it to tuktuk drivers.. I'd be rich..
the next time it was around 5.30am and a Canadian chap with his girlfriend started to talk to me about salmon farming and the fish trade in general.. he seemed nice enough..
I dont get the hype..

Fat people are harder to kidnap..
I had exactly the same "shortchanged" experience as Gilmore mentioned above. And I got the same treatment from Glenn.
Was across the street from the WA one night having an iced coffee when I suddenly heard gunshots. Two motorbikes appeared and the first one went down right in front of the WA. He bled out, having been shot in the back by the guy on the other bike.

Maybe that was when the security guard got killed, I think by another security guard.

The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.
