Why does Ganzberg go through your system so fast?
A: Because it does not have to stop to change colour

My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

You might want to stock up, wouldn't be surprised if it's not around for much longer!

I know. It will be sadly missed, at least by me. I thought from the start that they priced themselves too high; most expats and tourists are a tight-fisted lot.Vox Clamantis wrote:Hanno wrote:Met the guy brewing it yesterday and gave the beer a go. Obviously it could never be a marketing and strategic planning fuck-up.Hanno wrote:I know. It will be sadly missed, at least by me. I thought from the start that they priced themselves too high; most expats and tourists are a tight-fisted lot.
The last resort is to blame the consumer, long after basic market research by a retarded 5 year old would have told them that.

I am not blaming the customer, of couse it was a marketing screw-up. If they had done any research they would have realized that there is not much of a market for expensive beer. Expats and tourists alike seem to feel that everything in Cambodia should be a bargain; hence the 35 Cents beers.....vladimir wrote:Obviously it could never be a marketing and strategic planning fuck-up.Hanno wrote:I know. Where do they sell 35 cents beers? I've never seen beer on sale that cheap, even in a corner store. I bought a can of Ganzberg a few weeks back just to taste it, it seemed ok. Same price as most other beers, 2000 riel.Hanno wrote:I am not blaming the customer, of couse it was a marketing screw-up. There was some American sailor on Reddit the other day who'd been on shore leave in Sihanoukville briefly. He was trying to say beers were only 10 cents a bottle and he'd never paid more than 30 cents for a bottle of Tiger. Obviously deluded or too drunk to remember, beer costs way more than that wholesale.

I thought the advert was alright (considering the target will be local).
The company behind the beer controls about half of the local spirits market which is big business, they sell huge volume of whiskey/wine in the provinces so will be well placed to enter rural off premise outlets.
I haven't seen the beer for sale in my area yet but for sure it is mass market beer and they just added foreign faces for prestige value and to avoid going head to head with the likes of Angkor, Cambodia or Phnom Penh Beer.
At least they have a strategy for their brand which for a Khmer business is impressive in itself.
Though I must say I have never been keen on Germanic beer nor recommendations from Frenchies.

"35 cents" - over KNY those Kingdom jokers were selling their Gold tinned spew at $5.50 a case - or a princely 22 cents a can.
I'd rather drink water though or Duck Ply Chair Django.

Personally I'd rather shave my own ballsack with a cheese grater than take one sip of Kingdom Beer and I say that with all due respect.Just Robbed wrote:"35 cents" - over KNY those Kingdom jokers were selling their Gold tinned spew at $5.50 a case - or a princely 22 cents a can.
Which dumb-ass advertising agency came up with that pile of crap?
I was working as a Marketing Manager for Ganzberg and finally gave up after 6 weeks.
They are the most consultancy resistant people in the world.
They pay 20.000$ and more for this crap.
Working now as a freelancer.
This is what you get from me for a 6K$
