I rarely post on this forum, but do visit and read posts most weeks.

I recently received a CV from an applicant who was seeking employment at my international school in Laos. His CV wasn't very detailed, but listed recent employment at 2 international schools in Siem Reap and 1 in Phnom Penh. But his contact email rang a very faint bell in my head.

A quick research back on this forum and my suspicions were confirmed. This guy Corr was trying to gain employment at my school where most of the students are of primary age.

I've consigned his CV to the trash folder and have warned other schools in Laos to watch out for this guy.

If his previous history had not been exposed on this forum, I (and others) would be none the wiser about his murky past. So it may prove beneficial to others not to delete this thread.

Are these schools so dodgy that they do not even request sight of a passport before they employ someone? It would stop applications under bogus names if nothing else.

There are only two "international schools" worth the name in SR -- ISSR and SRIS -- and my understanding is that he was employed by neither.

At least one of the places where he worked in SR under his real name and where they obviously completely failed to do any due diligence was the "Western International School".

He used his real name (William Corr) and his kiddyporn email address. He lists his 'recent' employment as:

An International School in Siem Reap
Part-time University teaching in Siem Reap
An International School in Phnom Penh
Western International School, Siem Reap

but when pressed by me, he names the SR schools as Apple School and USA International School.

Does anyone know if he has recently taught at these schools? He declined to provide me with any further details about his dates of employment or classes taught. He's still using a Cambodian mobile number, so I assume he's not over here in Laos.

My concern is a more general one. Were I not an avid reader of the high standard of posts on this esteemed forum, I would be none the wiser as to his past (present?).

This is easy to fix:

Copy the link and send a brief email to all the schools, universities in Cambodia, as well as the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports.

Also print the story, with a photo, and ask teachers to stick it up in their teacher's room and hand a copy to the School Director/Manager.
