I saw on the Andy Brouwer blog that Sereyvuth Kem, the motodop/actor from the film "City of Ghosts" has his own website and offers a taxi service now. So you could hire him and have the whole Matt Dillon experience if you want. I wonder how much more he can charge than a regular driver based on his celebrity.
It's interesting that one of the press clippings mentions that he was only paid $6,000 for his acting work. I guess that's a lot for a Khmer but it still seems awfully low considering the size of his role. I wonder how many hours he worked and how much they ended up paying him per hour.
This all kind of reminds me of when the guy who claimed he was the basis of Seinfeld's "Kramer" character started his "Kenny Kramer Reality Tours" around New York, which was then spoofed when the character Kramer also did this in a Seinfeld episode.

$6,000 isn't much but I heard that he bought some land with it. If I were in his shoes then I'd be in the Heart every night hitting on impressionable backpackers and trying to use the celebrity status to get laid.
However, Chris Penn was probably spending more than that a day on drugs and whores when he was here on his abortive film shoot last year.
I also wonder how much the other guy got paid - the one with the disturbing grin who always hangs around the riverside and reminds me of a chauffer without a car.
I have a hunch that whatever they paid him, he spent it all immediately on beer.

I really enjoyed that movie. I see on Mr. Sok's website that he actually gives tours of all the various film locations around PP. All long as the price isn't out of control, I'd enjoy getting to see these places, especially after a decent "medium" happy pizza and a couple of Beer Laos. HAPPINESS! And yes for the extra deluxe complete Matt Dillon experience would have to load up the soundtrack (which is not bad) on the old iPod (which I just lost ). Where is the temple the guy crashed after he got thumped or where was the hotel he stayed? "There was a monkey in my room! There was no minkey in your rheum!"gavinmac wrote:I saw on the Andy Brouwer blog that Sereyvuth Kem, the motodop/actor from the film "City of Ghosts" has his own website and offers a taxi service now. i hope Mr Kem/Srash/Sok knows how to check his email, as I emailed him a month ago about his tours and he hasn't got back to me yet!
wonder if its worth giving him a call...hmmm
long shot, but anyone know where he is?
and KiR - obscure question, but you were talking about the guy with the creepy grin who's always at the riverside...are you talking about the guy in the film with bad acne scarring who Dillon punched out at the temple rave (the one who was working for Kasper) or the general? or someone else?

If it's the silent grinning dude with the sun glasses, decked out like a tacky, insane bellhop, then he's just like his movie caricature in real life. My wife remembers him being dressed the same and behaving in the same bizarre fashion years ago, when she was a primary school student.Starving Pelican wrote: and KiR - obscure question, but you were talking about the guy with the creepy grin who's always at the riverside...are you talking about the guy in the film with bad acne scarring who Dillon punched out at the temple rave (the one who was working for Kasper) or the general? or someone else?
