Nothing but an opinionated tourist. The Pope spends more time in countries than I do ! It is also not my place to comment on a gentleman's dress. A real 23 minute wonder, that obviously knows little about ovens and cooking in Cambodia.

I do the same. I drank three days this month, and still have a few beers left over from the case. I'll drink five days a week in Cambodia. Ok, seven.gavinmac wrote:I drink about 10 times as much in Cambodia as I do in the US. In the US I drink about 10 beers a month. In Cambodia, I drink about 30 beers a week.

I haven't had a drink since Jan and I live across the road from a great old local pub, oh the agony, then I got on the Champix tabs, Dr's orders and haven't had a smoke for two weeks.
I've had the biggest headaches, worst insomnia, horrendous irritability and coughed up the biggest brownies since I had bronchitis, I hate everything at the moment...but I feel better.
Just prepping for another PP trip.

Never mind.
Interesting. I did drink a lot when I came to South-East Asia on short business trips (mostly Bangkok, Singapore and KL back then), but since I moved to Bangkok, I've been drinking less than ever before in my life. Either it's because of the hot climate that doesn't go well with alcohol (at least for myself), or because I've been busy, or older and wiser... If I were retired and bored, I'd probably drink much more. Some of what I've read here sounds familiar, for me it also used to be difficult to stop drinking while I was at it, leading to many a bad hangover.
