I'm on the riverfront almost everyday. I always carry a bag. What you describe has never happened to me. Which is not to say it doesn't happen. People do sometimes get pick pocketed and/or their lose bag sometimes, especially if they have poor security habits. For it to happen to you so many times indicates that you are either doing something wrong (security wise) or you've got a "Stupid foreigner. Rob Me" sign on your back.potty wrote:errrr... you dont think, its the guys out there ?
then i probably have a brand new sign on the back...

I haven't had anything either stolen while at Riverside. And I would have my backpack with my laptop and other things so i could work down there. Was nice while it lasted.
I'm the coolest guy I know.... shit I think I need some new friends!
i havent had anything stolen either, but its shocking with what "normalcy" they approach ppl, fiddle on bags (ON YOU), and are not even in panic/scared, when you discover it... they foolishly grin in your face...

I think upping his overall skills on self awareness might help also.

I can't even begin to think what strange psychological factors are at play to make you mention breastfeeding in this sentence (if such a ratbag of words thrown randomly together can be dignified with such a name.)
WTF does breastfeeding have to do with anything?
hahahaha... it causes me nausea... im investigating why that is, asked already my mother... has to do with milk...
its what it is, scobienz, its meant OFFENSIVE by them... annoying... the maximum she can do to embarrass the people in the restaurant...

I've seen it once or twice, nothing common. But I've seen it outside of Sorya Marketplace. Most of the babies are with younger siblings so no breastfeeding. But once in a blue moon you'll see a mother supposedly sitting on the curb looking up at you with her hand out and the baby is sucking.scobienz wrote:

I guess he has a hang up about seeing these girls breast feeding. I personally don't care. Doesn't make me feel inclined to give money more so then any one else.
Edit: lol Potty did you ask her if she breastfeed you as a baby?

I was about to say the same thing. I doubt we'll get more than a random jumbled reason for this.scobienz wrote: WTF does breastfeeding have to do with anything?
I'm on the riverside every now and again, and like eating/drinking at some of the places there. The only people who ever bother me are those aggressive drug-dealers near FCC.

The thing about begging, not in general but in the touristed areas of Cambodia, is that it is an organised criminal racket. I'm human, and of course it pains me to see kids and single mothers out on the street. But this feeling is tempered by the thought that each kid, each woman, is forced to pay the greater part of their "earnings" to a criminal. The criminals have designated territories and argue (sometimes violently) over turf and actively recruit from the underclass and the most vulnerable. I know that my Khmer friends know that this goes on, and most business operators in the tourist precincts must also know it goes on. But turning a blind eye or accepting it is probably the best way of avoiding threats and conflict or a mysterious fire on your premises.
We all know not to give to beggars, but it's not just because it encourages them, keeps them out of school or is bad for the tourist industry. Giving to beggars fosters crime, corruption and violence against women and kids from these arseholes. More power to the likes of Friends, who at least are trying to educate the public about this as much as helping the victims.
/Rant over.

hilarious. i love how potty is just so ... potty. if potty is florida, i prefer potty. However, just because I laugh at potty and the responses of others to potty, doesn't mean I don't find him incredibly annoying sometimes. Happy to see the 24-hr ban.
