What happened to tpf-cambodia?
Sorry if this topic was dealt with before but I couldn't find an answer through the search function. Can anyone please tell me what happened to the website tpf-cambodia? I found info there that I could hardly believe first, due to a certain "bias" of the site. But when I was in Sihanoukville I observed the surveillance of foreigners who supported children's education myself. Although any contact was in public and in the open, there was a constant rotation of "stalkers" on motorbikes watching and sometimes documenting the contacts via photos. The police confirmed that this kind of stalking is considered illegal in Cambodia. I wondered what happened to the webmaster of tpf, maybe he can give us a sign of being free, alive and active?

I doubt this is true.jayavarman14 wrote: The police confirmed that this kind of stalking is considered illegal in Cambodia.

Stalking is considered a form of harassment and can lead to claims of injury awards if the victim suffers from it. Probably most "victims" do not have the time or nerve to go through that process.
I do not know what tpf stands or stood for.

Come on, it's Cambodia. Staring is a national sport. You can get drunk and run over a foreigner and kill him and get away with it; no one is arresting anyone for following suspected Western pedophiles around.jayavarman14 wrote:Stalking is considered a form of harassment and can lead to claims of injury awards if the victim suffers from it. There is some Cambodian law to be found on the web in English, and a legal hint is given in the fourth paragraph from below in this article:

First, I hope my initial request (question) is not forgotten over the common personal remarks (please read again, I considered the tpf website "biased" but nevertheless highly informative).
gavinmac: I did not speak of "arrests" (yet) but of financial claims. Those who are stalked should consider them, whatever the kind of stalking, wherever it takes place.
And of course someone might get away with running a foreigner over but this goes both ways. I recently read in a blog how a foreigner got away with manslaughtering a Cambodian. On the other hand, with pressure from Interpol, your home countries' police and the means that your own family may have it will be much harder for a Khmer to get away with it than vice versa, I suppose, considering the level of corruption and that most probably - following your line of thinking - the one who is richer wins.

How much money do you think you are owed for being followed around a bit? 10,000 riel?

gavinmac: That will depend on the person stalked and his/her lawyer. And those responsible. The Cambodian behind Aple has a big house in Sihanoukville, so you do not have to worry about 10.000 Riel. There is more to it than being "followed around a bit", as when you dig deeper you may find other illegal activity as mentioned in another thread here, like retrieving passport info that only the police is allowed to get, blackmailing (calumny) etc. It is important to help those (few) in Cambodia who want to establish a reasonable justice system by targeting those who are corrupt.
Thanks for the archive site, Mèo Den, that is about the last of what I saw of this website.

The domain registration expired at GoDaddy on 14 August, but was re-registered on 26 August (probably after they realized that the site was no longer working). It now expires on 14 August 2015. When they renewed the domain, they probably forgot to renew the hosting package. Although the page appears blank, it is actually contains GoDaddy Parked Domain source code:
Code: Select all
