Just wondering if being married to a Cambodian woman has any perks for visas or Cambodian citizenship?
In other countries this is a pathway to citizenship. How about Cambodia?
Visa/Citizenship perks for spouse of Cambodian?
After 3 years of being officially married, in Cambodia, to a Cambodian citizen you can demand citizenship according to the law on Nationality.

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

The only thing that comes to mind is that my kids are supposed to pay local admission rates to the Royal Palace, National Museum and Angkor Wat, but the ticket sellers always insist on quizzing them in Khmer and the kids just stare back at them, clueless. They have a little stamp on their visas that says "Cambodian Mother", so we photocopied those and the photocopies, along with pitching a hissy fit, sometimes gets them in at the local rate, but that's just too much work for me in this hot weather and so I just pay up and shut up.
That's about it.
I'm told that the kids will have to pay full price at Angkor Wat "because of the Vietnamese."

That's like, your opinion, man.
I've never heard of anyone getting it this way. Where would one start? There is zero information on the process online, and I don't imagine too many Government officials know either...although they may claim they do, for a hefty donation to buy teaKPTIC wrote:Has anyone on here gotten citizenship this way?

I took a Cambodian woman to Singapore once. Checking in for the flight at Pochentong, the Jetstar Airlines agent told her that because she's Cambodian she could get $7 cash back on the airfare/fees at the exchange booth at the back of the departures hall. We went over there, she showed her boarding pass and she got $7 in cold, hard cash.
In case you're wondering, yes, she promptly handed the cash to me. That's a pretty good test of whether a girl is wife material.

Haha! Sure, but if they keep the $7 when you paid for the ticket, I'd say it's an automatic marriage disqualifier.Gin&Tonic wrote: My ex handed back the $7. It doesn't mean shit!
