Sure. I met him only a couple of times at my gym after he got out of prison. This is public knowledge so I will provide you links so you can read the articles on him. It was in Thailand not Cambodia.

The story of Muller is well known in SEA but I don't see any references either in those articles or through an online search of the guy ever having been on death row.

Personal accounts of knowing/working with sociopath(s) - tho they're pretty rare and I'd be surprised if anyone were to meet more than one or two in a lifetime. If you find that everyone around you is a sociopath, or a psychopath, or a narcissist, or otherwise unstable, you should consider changing your career.batshitcrazyweirdo wrote:Hi,
How can I help you?
Nothing, except maybe the warm fuzzy feeling that comes from knowing you've unburdened your soul to a complete stranger. Catholics can do that with a priest, but for the rest of us there's only social media.batshitcrazyweirdo wrote:What's in it for me?
Great link to the dead guy from Eketahuna. Those boiler room guys have been murdering each other for an awfully long time. There was a boiler room aussie or kiwi murdered in his car in our street in bangkok about 35 years ago. It is said that the richest boiler room guys own Nana Plaza, they have become much richer than drug dealers in Thailand.
Another urban myth. The land is own by a prominent Sikh family (same as much of Sukhmvit) and most of the larger bars are owned by Thai families. The crappier ones are owned by a handful of deadbeat westerners living the dream.ken svay wrote:Great link to the dead guy from Eketahuna. GT: I gather "boiler-rooms" are rooms (usually in Bangkok or such places) full of young men with phones. They ring people up all over the world and tell them they can sell them shares in companies that are bound to take off. Maybe 1 in a thousand fall for it, but that's enough. The companies don't exist, the shares don't exist, and when the authorities finally come round there's nobody there. Called "boiler-room" because of the pressure they put on the charlies, and also the pressure they're under themselves.
How did this thread get from sociopaths to Nana Plaza?

The problem with this subject is that people have a tendency to think that anyone who has gone against them in their lives - personally or professionally - is a sociopath. It's too easy to bandy it around. Feeling under pressure at work? 'My boss is a sociopath'. Coming out of a difficult relationship? 'Fuck that woman was a sociopath'. Disagree with someone on 440? 'Bloody sociopath'.
None of them are true of course. It's just normal life with its ups and downs, its petty hassles and its difficult people, including ourselves. As PJC said, few of us will run into genuine sociopaths in our lifetime: a few pricks here and there, but not a sociopath.

So I can help you. You just want to meet me? Do you have insurance?
A warm fuzzy feeling. Priest. Social media. Um, hmm.
Scobienz is a sociopath for one. I would never consider changing my career.
I LIKE IT JUST THE WAY IT IS.

Yeah, just avoid doing business with any single persona around here, try and keep it to an organisational level, cause there are a lot of ruthless folks here trying to scam you out of your cash and/or professional intelligence, just due to the simple fact that it is real hard to sue anyone for being cheated around here. I've heard countless of stories about people looking to rid the average happy go lucky newcomer here, and being real nice at it too, having them feel all important while chugging two dollar jugs down the Riverside. Beware and take care.

What do you make of this then people? ;
One in 100 children are psychopaths, experts believe
Around one in 100 children in the UK could be a psychopath, research suggests.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/ ... lieve.html
So one in one in a hundred people are psychopaths. Given that sociopaths are a milder form of psychopathy, you could probably say 3 in a hundred people are sociopaths. Then you got yer more common garden variety narcissists, so call that 5 out of 100 aswell.
Then there's the ''others'' who are not any of the above, but are still in the bonkers fringe, who have the odd fantasy about giving someone a good stabbing on a Friday night to make them feel less insecure.
So call it 10% nutters. This makes pro gun laws look completely bonkers, so throw in another few percent for the boys from the NRA aswell...
Donald Trump's hairdo makes me abit suspicious aswell....
