Dog owners who bring their Pets into Restaurant and Bars
Interested to hear other peoples opinions on whether they think Dog owners should bring their pets into Restaurant and bars?
Definitely not restaurants.
I'd be ok in bars if people trained their dogs, but they don't. So they come over and pester you.
Having said that, there's a bar near me that lets dogs in, and it attracts a nice friendly crowd, with no trouble.

Simply put dogs and restaurants should not go together unless the restaurant is (a) pet friendly (there are a few in PP that openly advertise themselves as such), (b) serving dog (again a few in PP), or perhaps if the dog is a working dog i.e. working as a guide dog (yet to see one in Cambodia).

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my grandfather did–in his sleep. Not yelling and screaming like the passengers in his car.

The problem with dog owners is that they think other people find their pets as charming and adorable as they themselves do. They're not. They're annoying animals. If you want a pet, fine. Feel free to enjoy it, but don't impose it on other people.

If a bar is dog friendly, sure. Most dog owners I have seen have their mutts reasonably trained, with one blue rinsed obese exception.
Restaurants: depends on what we call a restaurant. Blue dolphin, for example, isn't really a restaurant. It's a cafe. I'd say it's the owners call as long as the dog is trained to sit.
But at the Exchange, for example, I would only expect a guide dog to be allowed.

At least a dog sitting next to you, won't try and scam you or ask you if you want massage boom boom though.
There's this new dog with a mastiff like head and huge testicles that keeps running out at me and barking at me whenever i go jogging though. He can **** right off.

Hmmm - replacing local restaurant workers with cute dogs decked out in uniform. YaTingPom you may have inadvertently stumbled across a gold mine here..... The level of service would be consistent and now we have the cuteness factor as well. Anyone got 50k to invest? - this is going straight to the business sectionYaTingPom wrote:kiwikhmer wrote:Simply put dogs and restaurants should not go together unless the restaurant is (a) pet friendly (there are a few in PP that openly advertise themselves as such), (b) serving dog (again a few in PP), or perhaps if the dog is a working dog i.e. working as a guide dog (yet to see one in Cambodia).

Playboy, Yes I was. One of the dogs decided to shit on the floor 6feet from my table just before dinner was served. Hence my question to the Khmer440 panel!

Well, shitting on the floor is never good, dog or human !
Obviously not a good thing, for the customers, owner of the bar or the owner of the dog.
In this case, did the owner immediately apologise and clean everything up within a minute or two ?
As I understand it, the dog in question goes into many bars and restaurants - with the various establishments owners permissions - and that in all the years it has been doing so, this is only the second time that such a thing has every happened.
Next time that you are at that bar come have a few beers on me.

I will not name and shame....I like the place too much. Was never my intention to do so.. I love dogs, but feel they should be kept outside and not running around inside a nice air conditioned bar/restaurant.
this will not stop me going to this un-named...establishment
