Why?

When posters join the belong to an admin group called 'newly registered posters' which means we review their posts before publishing and which comes with limited abilities, such as no pictures. It's a legacy issue which was brought in to stop porn spammers a few years ago.

Usually I override it after the first post because it's annoying to both mods and new posters. I think it might be time to take it down altogether.

I think Scoob's that is a little harsh and potentially costly to some of our members. It is always best to air on the side of caution in such matters.

Have you exchanged emails with her and opened her reply attachment? If so it would be simple and safe for everyone else if you posted it on her behalf?

Phishing: bogus emails asking for security information and personal details
Webcam manager: where criminals takeover your webcam
File hijacker: where criminals hijack files and hold them to ransom
Keylogging: where criminals record what you type on your keyboard
Screenshot manager: allows criminals take screenshots of your computer screen
Ad clicker: allows a criminal to direct a victim’s computer to click a specific link

All of these are dropped into your computer when you innocently open an email attachment. Now I am no expert, there are many here, I am sure but you seem very confident it is not covertly carrying any of the above. Please, for my own education, so I can learn how to know the difference, how are you so sure? how can you spot the difference?

Does being on admin review prevent posting urls? Simple enough to upload an image to imgbox and post the url if the img bbcodes are restricted.

@ Edin ....Yeah....with tablets and smart phones you will get a problem regarding protection.
Re. the £20 million........you know these people....having absolutely no clue about computers, but clicking on fuckin' everything is a bad combination. Well, and then it happens, and then they complain. Some people learn it only the hard way.

Vtzilla is a nice Add-on for scanning links and downloads. Scans the link with all of the popular AV engines out there on VirusTotal's website ;
