I was here then for a few months but don't remember it. I was just thinking, Sihanouk ville was out but they have a new Chinese built megawatt power station there. I thought it was online for a while now. So why SNV?andyinasia wrote:Not the craziest conspiracy theory. Someone from the CNRP is bound to say it's HE ordered.

I was asleep when the power cut happened yesterday. I woke up and noticed it but I passed out and slept like a baby.

Simply not true, the lights didn't go out in Ratanakiri last night. Must be the only time we didn't suffer a power-cut and the rest of the country did. Usually it's the other way around.andyinasia wrote:scobienz wrote:I'm told there is no power in sihanoukville tonight also. Can't confirm that. Any snookies?
From England I can tell you the WHOLE COUNTRY is out. How is that possible???

\Power cut in Vietnam causes blackout across Cambodia
English.news.cn 2015-11-27 01:46:05 More
PHNOM PENH, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- A power cut in Vietnam caused a blackout of nearly an hour across Cambodia on Thursday night, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said.
The electricity had been cut off in Cambodia for nearly one hour from 10:00 p.m. to 10:50 p.m.
"On behalf of the Cambodian government, I'd like to apologize for this inconvenience and affirm that the power cut is not the sign of any terrorist attack," Hun Sen said in a speech broadcast live on his Facebook page soon after the blackout.
He said Cambodia had used 150 megawatts of electricity from Vietnam to light up in Phnom Penh City and other provinces.
"When the electricity in Vietnam had been cut off, it caused power outages in Phnom Penh and other provinces," he said.
According to the prime minister, more than 50 percent of the electricity had been restored in Phnom Penh and the technicians were working actively to reconnect the power in provinces.
The blackout occurred when Cambodian people were enjoying the last night of the three-day Water Festival holiday.

Also, much of Siem Reap is supplied by Thailand.2013
Siem Reap requires more than 50 megawatts (MW) of power each day – much of which comes from Thailand, said Cheam Korsen, provincial EdC director, who added that during the cut yesterday, only 10MW was available.

You'd better check the local place she wants to go for delivery has a working generator.
Doesn't the Sihanoukville power actually go to Vietnam? I thought most Cambodian power was sold and then bought back again giving someone lots of Range Rovers and villas.
