Is accused murderer "Mick the Pom" living in Cambodia?
I know for a fact that, at least in times gone by, the Trat border did not do any computerised checks at all about people crossing the border with regards to arrest warrants in Thailand, whether that is still true now I don't know. And it wasn't about paying off the guards, it was just they didn't. The airports however, always did. If that is still true now, I have no idea, but as of 3/4 years ago.
A mate of mine got in a punch up with some chicken shit wanker over a girl, the piece of shit preferred to run away and call the police rather than stand up and fight. My mate managed to get back in across the Thai border at Koh Kong one time, no problems whatsoever. He then went back to Thailand by air a few years later and was arrested at the new airport, much to his surprise, he said the police were nice at the airport and he sat down and had a nice meal with them and they also mentioned that they didn't check people at land crossings. He ended up getting a 500baht fine with 300baht took off for a night served in the nick. Whether they have connected to the internet yet or not now I don't know. But my mate had to pay a four quid fine.

The Koh Kong border is so...erm...relaxed that they have all these tuk tuk touts outside trying to get you to pay for the express route through an immigration side door so you don't have to que for the finger print scan etc.
"I don't care what the people are thinking, i ain't drunk i'm just drinking"
As mentioned before, his FB was closed to outsiders and only open to his mates. He likely thought he was safe posting his location. Someone in that group no doubt leaked it.spitthedog wrote:
Strange to think he might of drawn attention to his location because he posted on Facebook.
Edit: Is anyone on Thaivisa? If so, they should know about this.
The decline in the cut of the criminal classes continues. Wanted fugitive posts his location on facebook. What a prick.
For whoever posted about the residents of SHK waiting for a knife through the heart, if he is guilty of the crime, he hasn't stabbed anyone through the heart in over a decade so I think you're safe.
I don't really have much faith in the Thai justice system after all the lies and deception surrounding the Burmese 2, so it's hard to take any 'evidence' they have seriously.

That is not really the point. He was arrested and release on bail after handing over some land as a bond. Instead of waiting for the trial, he fled to Philippines where he lived under an assumed name. Then he was arrested and somehow fled again to Sihanoukville. Whether he is guilty of murder or not, it is clear that he is on the lam.finy wrote:For whoever posted about the residents of SHK waiting for a knife through the heart, if he is guilty of the crime, he hasn't stabbed anyone through the heart in over a decade so I think you're safe.

Is there a reward or bounty for catching people on the lam internationallyscobienz wrote:Whether he is guilty of murder or not, it is clear that he is on the lam.
or does that system work only in the States
for bail bondsmen and/or fugitive recovery agents?
The States had that super-mullet, Dog the Bounty Hunter;
we got Batshitcrazyweirdo.
Can someone get Kon Khmer to keep his eyes on Mick; I heard Sam...I mean Kon Khmer is awesome at spying on people incognito.
It seems too 'Catch Me If You Can' for me.scobienz wrote:That is not really the point. He was arrested and release on bail after handing over some land as a bond. Maybe I'm naive, but I can't see how a killer with evidence stacked up against him would be able to hop around Asia without a care in the world.
I tend to agree with GavMac the Thais have probably swept it under the carpet due to some reason or another, whether he is guilty or not.
But I guess we'll soon see if he gets arrested soon.
So how does he manage to travel, when they have his passport?
The British Embassy in Bangkok has refused to confirm or deny whether or not he re-entered the UK after he absconded from Thailand, and neither that embassy nor the British embassy in Manila nor the Home Office in the UK have explained to the Gazette how Taylor continues to travel abroad.
Taylor’s lawyer, Somsak “Sam” Chattay, confirmed to the Gazette in 2006 that Taylor’s passport was held at the Chalong Police Station during the trial.
The Gazette has a copy of Taylor’s previous passport, showing it was due to expire on June 12 this year. For Taylor to be legally travelling today as a British national, he must have been issued a new passport by the UK authorities while he was still wanted for murder in Thailand.

Khmer440: These threads will knock your socks off!
Apparently, the phrase first appeared in the mid-19th century meaning 'to beat or vanquish someone thoroughly'. At first it was used, to mean to win in a knock-down fist-fight so savage, that the loser might expect not only to lose his shoes in the fight but also his socks as well! .........
'to have one's socks knocked off' came to mean 'to be amazed, delighted or very impressed.'

Y'all come back now.
I'd be delighted.
Carry on.

I'm pretty sure Andrew Drummond covered this case on his site several years back so there may be some additional back ground info on there, unfortunately I can't access his site here in Thailand to double check because it's junta blocked.

The facts are listed in the first post. I got a message that he's been staying at Above Us Only Sky guesthouse in Serendipity Beach and that he goes by "Mick the Dog."Asimov wrote:So after 6 pages what are the actual known facts of the case?

The Facebook page for Above Us Only Sky has a photo of a guy at the bar who looks exactly like him.
He has deactivated his Facebook page since we started this discussion.
