He's coming back to sue your ass off Miguelito, the damage you have done to this upstanding young man's reputation is unquantifiable.

I would have thought that funds alone would have been enough to keep him grounded for at least a couple of years. Perhaps one of his business ventures took off? Are you aware of what he's working on now? He blocked me when he found out that i was leaking his ramblings to this forum.

The Jimmy Scam, IDtombraider wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 11:19 amDoes anybody recognise Jimmy (even if the pics seem to have been taken using the grease proof paper filter on $1 disposable camera) ?
As its old Willy it safe to say it's probably a scam and if it isn't then Jimmy couldn't have picked a worse fundraiser for his cause than Willy. Good to see he's moved on from raising money for the poor railway children here. Anyway $1100 for a stroke and a stay in Calmette sounds quite low. If the guy is that broke I'm sure the visa regulations will catch up with him and he can get deported.
Sorry to go back to ancient history. I was just pursuing this threads back pages and came across the "Jimmy" chapter. As the mystery still seems unsolved, maybe this will interest some;
- Photographs are of Jimmy the doyen of Koh Kong's expat community, predating even Otto I believe.
- New Jersey cab driver, been doing the work/Cambodia shuffle for, I dunno, 25 years?? Approx 6 mnths or more in Cambodia every year. Thailand before that. A lifelonger.
_ Intelligent, speaks Khmer, probably on the autistic rainbow somewhere. Nobody lives cheaper. Sweeps dishes etc for a long line of local restaurants for free meals. Local reliable news and gossip repository.
- All the New Jersey cab fares go to a procession of hardcore Vietnamese girls he falls hopelessly in love with.
- Everybody, locals and expats alike give him huge allowances for all his various lunacies.
- Had stroke in Koh Kong 2-3 years ago, went home, nobody heard from since. (as far as I know)
- The photographs on this thread, from the FB scam page, appear to be Jimmy after he had his stroke.
- Jimmy was famous for making his last sixpence stretch out his annual stay for another couple of months, so he may well have been broke and need help to get back home.
- **But Jimmy was not stupid. he would have got whatever consular assistance was available. He had family back home, and would probably even been able to get a local Kh or expat to help him raise the fare home. He is the rare kind of total fuck-up that everyone has time for.
- Too much "smarts" to get involved with a scammer. My guess is that our Mr WG probably did a parasite job on top Jimmy's genuine misfortune. (speculation only)
(PS, If you are tuned into this while out there cruising the mean streets of downtown Jersey, Jimmy - come back home to Koh kong. We all miss you, you lovely old totally fuck-up!)

I doubt you guys need to know more about this bloke but he is new to me, and I just twigged that he pulled a parasite scam on top of Koh Kong Jimmy's stroke - So I did some more digging.
I reckon this is him, late 2018 (see link below). The name, the particular form of madness, and the URL.
"International Relations" writer for UK online publisher. "Media" - A bit wobbly in some of its content, but the site is big enough to be banned by China for publishing the Panama Papers.
I examined this William George Jewsbury's pseudo scholarly essays and they are pure unadulterated gobbledygook.
He must have studied a bit of sociology, IR or similar - or maybe just bought the text books. He never would have graduated.
It is a mix of high-jargon, psychosis (seriously), and narcissistic attention seeking.
But really funny thing is that he will convince many people that he is an knowledgable international affairs scholar. He's good. He skates very close to the real thing, he knows what kind of shit people are impressed by, and how to serve it by the bucket load. That is why he is such master con man.

Try reading some of his masterworks - but don't be bedazzled whatever you do.

He is actually seriously funny.
"Whether or not we choose to take notice creates either proximity or distance in a globalised world, where ‘the space of flows and timeless time’ create foundations that ‘transcends the diversity of historically transmitted systems of representation’ (Castells, 2000). Time-space compression created by ICTs allows for connection over distance with people, societies, cultures and events that may be proximate in ideas and knowledge transferral, although still geographically distant in physicality."

Saw this posted just now in the Phnom Penh & Expat forum. I'm saying it's Jewsbury. Wasn't he involved in all manner of airbnb scamming?

I can't imagine too many hotels will let anyone check in unless their specific details are on the register. You can't just roll in and say "I'm Teach Smith, you know that reservation you had for William George Jewsbury? Well he's not coming but I'll be taking his room instead".

What you can do sometimes is add someone as an "additional guest" on the reservation and the hotel may let them check in before you, and then you just don't show up. I agree though, the who;e thing is really risky, you're at the mercy of the front desk clerk.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2019 12:27 amI can't imagine too many hotels will let anyone check in unless their specific details are on the register. And I think I just read a few weeks ago about a crackdown by Hilton hotels particularly in Kuala Lumpur because Hilton Diamond members were booking rooms and re-selling them on AirBnB, and promising the buyers Diamond benefits.
Like I, as a Diamond member, could book a room for the standard rate of $100, then sell it to a no status commoner for $110 on airbnb, and that person would buy it from me for the slightly increased rate because he'd get my Diamond benefits like room upgrade, free breakfast for two people, free evening lounge access with booze, etc. And I would also pocket the 3000 Hilton points or so.
And now the hotels are all cracking down on this airbnb resale stuff, probably in Kuala Lumpur, specifically.
