He wants chemical castration, hoping to get away with a light sentence. We will know on November, 24th.

This chemical castration idea is ridiculous. A chemically or even surgically-induced impotence will likely have no effect on a sexual predator's behavior. It's a mental problem, correcting it with forced sexual dysfunction is not going to work. Ceulen comes across as the kind of guy who would still try and fuck you even if his limbs were all cut off like that Black Knight in the Holy Grail.DeVeelvraat wrote:He wants chemical castration, hoping to get away with a light sentence. Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

I am amazed by the arrogance of this defence. Sentencing serves (at least) two purposes: to protect society, but (mostly I should think) to punish! Ceulen seems to think that if he would no longer be a danger to society (which I doubt is easily achieved given the severity of his "impulses"), there is no need for a prison sentence. But surely what he did requires serious punishment!! To simply say "community is best served if he can receive treatment" to me proves that he has no true remorse. His victims deserve to see him punished. I hope this defence has offended the court, and that it will uphold (or increase!) his sentence.

The defence strategy is indeed an affront to decency and, as you rightly state, monumentally arrogant in its implicit assertion that any punitive element of sentencing should be set aside. However, one thing that was readily apparent to anybody who looked at this case is that he is breathtakingly arrogant.Concerned Dutchie wrote:I am amazed by the arrogance of this defence. Lucky Lucan is quite correct regarding the preposterous nature of any chemical so-called treatment. Being rendered impotent isn't going to prevent him from going back to remotely directing and watching his own paedo scat films being acted out live in the Philippines. Or from jumping on a plane to Cambodia to wallow in his affluence and liberty whilst visiting a nightmare on the kids he seemed to get ready access to. A very lengthy jail term and getting beaten to a pulp on a regular basis by disgusted lags might give him pause after his release, though. That cunt needs breaking, not "healing".

The Court of Appeal has just this morning confirmed the original sentence: 19 years in jail, plus 15 years at the disposal of the court. So yes, he will probably die in jail as he himself said. He wanted a conditional sentence, nut the Court said only actual time time would be appropriate "for crimes this severe and repulsive".

Great news. I'd be interested to know about what investigations ever happened to those who have alleged to have helped him while he was on the run in Cambodia earlier this year, including his family. At the time of the arrests, the CPU indicated they were going to explore that in more detail and definitely mentioned a trusted Khmer helper in Siem Reap who was instrumental in his hiding. Sadly, nothing since then.
Siem Reap is a small town, and anything out of the ordinary attracts attention. There are sufficient eyes for the APPROPRIATE authorities to be - and remain - informed of the whereabouts of such a person. Let them do their job. Journalists (and vigilantes) may only give defense to the person accused. Report it by all means, but please don't pursue the prick lest he goes to ground. If he's protected, he has eyes too.Bulamatari wrote:He is not headed for South-East Asia; he's already here. Apparently he escaped Belgium on a technicality, as they failed to extend a three-month cancellation of his passport (or something similar).
He lives in Siem Reap: his crimes are detailed in several of the Belgian papers, and are grotesque. As to his status here, he obviously feels that it is safer than returning to Europe, so one would hope he is disabused of this notion, and soon. On a positive note, the whole town seems to know about it (except the local English- language newspaper).

Not true in this case. In this instance, it was ONLY this thread which alerted the wider media and eventually the authorities to both his recent conviction in Europe and the fact he has returned to Siem Reap. Noone would have picked up on it otherwise; and when other media outlets were totally disinterested it was this thread which kept the issue alive. In the end, it played its part in ultimately engaging the CPU to launch a proper taskforce and catch the guy.Caleb wrote:

Small town full of nonces who maintain omerta it appears.
There are clearly people who shielded, aided and abetted, including his family.

Yeah, for a slap in the chops! How dare you put me in the same category as a paedophile? "Responsible for gay acts"? Of course I'm responsible for gay acts - I'm gay! In the same way sheep are responsible for ovine acts, I am just as benign. The Vietnamese equate homosexuality to being the same as being left-handed. Is there a left-handed gene? You just want to appoint blame, settled loosely with your own sociopathy, to make it fit! With the golden age of Pederasty far gone (we've all heard of ancient Rome/Greece, yeah?, plus an apparent revival in 1970's Britain), I fail to see how THIS crime seems to take precedent above all other. We live in a country that throws people from their land, supports drug distribution networks, ignores cries of help from it's most needy citizens, lax as fuck when it comes to hurling acid in someones face & yet find some white dude with half a finger up a child's nether-regions ultimately obnoxious? Sounds like homo-bashing in the 60's a bit doesn't it?bipolar bear wrote:He is an incurable, twisted psychopath who has to be prevented from re-offending by taking away all opportunity to do so. These people aren't sick, they are who they are. Which brings me to my next point:
For all the Keyboard warriors out there, who REALLY want to "kill" a child abuser; come to Melbourne, Australia and I'll happily bring you to the front lawn of the domicile of the man who once abused me. You'll be provided with a .22 and itinerary of his comings and goings. Once peering down the sights you're legs will quiver and lips tremble as you desperately attempt to justify your soon-to-be unthinkable action. I know I did.
All 'normal' men are attracted to females. The age boundaries are governed by human decency, respect and law.
Anyone who cannot or will not respect those boundaries should be removed from society.
On one important line of argument, part of the reason (other than it might be true) that it has been claimed that gays are "born that way" (the whole 'gay gene' argument) is because, if it is in the genes, if they are "born that way" and thus have no choice in the matter, they cannot be held to blame for it, especially legally. It would be like holding somebody legally (or morally) responsible for being born with one leg, or with brown eyes, or with schizophrenia. Hence, it is unfair, and doesn't even really make legal or moral sense to blame a person for being gay, let alone have laws against it. Now some anti-gay advocates might then argue that even if they are "born that way" they do not have to act on it, thus people can and should still be held legally and morally responsible for gay acts (gay sex, etc.) The other side often retorts that as we are sexual beings it is too much to expect of people to deny and repress their sexuality - who they are - whether hetero or homo. Though some people may be strong enough, most are unable to repress who they are. Thus it is still unfair to hold a gay person legally accountable for gay acts. So where does this leave us if pedos are in fact 'born that way' as is being contended here. I imagine we don't want it to go down the same path as the gay rights argument - that just because they are born that way and their sexuality cannot be repressed it shouldn't be against the law or considered a moral failing. Sure, we still don't want pedos acting on their urges, and when they do, we understandably want to "remove (them) from society" to protect others. But even if for sake of society we are still willing to remove them from society for their acts, does it make sense to hold them legally responsible, or even to blame them for what they have done? Isn't it still like blaming somebody for being born with one leg and walking with a limp, or in this case, born with a congenital mental illness who hurts people as a result? Is there a moral ground for wishing prison and torture and death on them?
Move away from this attempt to conjoin a congenital condition (homosexuality) with an aberation that defies even us. You are hurting people such as TTF and myself, both of whom have been got at by aberations extruded by a combination of inculturation and social permission by ignorance. Paediphilia is not genetic. Now, stop going on about it. Find somewhere else so I don't have to read such diatribe again. Stop opening wounds! All of you! Caleb.
(Sorry, Violet. I didn't mean to railroad your post.)

19 years means he would be out in 6 years. Now, the 15 years 'at the disposal' might stop that. We will see.
Edit: new law made that 1/2 instead of 1/3 before they are considered for parole. So, will be after 9 years instead of 6 years.

What are you talking about, in your previous long post?Caleb wrote:And you wonder why people come here to suicide?

Being a woofter is not a "condition". It's a perfectly normal thing and nobody gives a damn.
Anyway, this thread is about much more important things so we oughtn't derail it.
