Too much hype , failed to deliver and made excuses for poor performance.
I don't think anyone wants to see you in front of the firing squad , just take a break from talking about yourself.
My next fight.... 14th Feb - Cambodia

Meets both criteria: Went FARTHER distance-wise AND went FURTHER figuratively speaking than most of us will ever GO or DO. Check that for grammar while you're at it.Miguelito wrote:farther vs. furtherTheRaven wrote:But you went farther and further then I ever did and further and farther than most people ever do so again:

So you think putting the gloves on with me will prove you're better than average ...... is this the way you normally react to criticism?Jamie_Lambo wrote:what hype? come put some gloves on and ill show you whos averageLucky Seven wrote:You do come across as a nice guy as long as you're not talking about your boxing skills which are average at best.Jamie_Lambo wrote:i dont really understand the reason for half the posts on here tbh

You're the one talking up " big " fights in Malta and claiming to be a No.1 ranked IKF kickboxer not me.
Relax , don't expect everyone to feed your ego.

I think simply "further" would suffice, especially if you're British: "The distinction does not exist in the U.K. and elsewhere in the (British) Commonwealth of Nations, where further is preferred for all senses of the word and farther is rare." And your use of "farther" for distance could be correct in the U.S., but what was the actual physical distance? He went further in his career, further up the rankings, and further in time. Maybe the argument could be made because it took him to such places as Malta and Cambodia, but, still, simply using "further" would encompass all meanings, and would be the preferred choice in the English language which discourages repetition and excessive diction and tends to prefer more concise sentences. Checked.

Jamie just keeping doing
and leave the commenting
for those more versed and
aptly suited for critiquing.
There will be haters always
pathetically struggling
whilst speaking of others
as those others act.
I completely understand that the evaluations and perceived slights to the ego
can be more painful than the blows to your physical body;
I'd rather break a man's nose than seriously wound his sense of pride.
Nonetheless, need I remind you that this is the internet and K440
is rather gentlemanly, even at her worst when compared to other forums.
You are not what others think of you
but you are what you have done.
Develop callouses in your mind as tough as
the callouses on your knuckles.
And, Jamie, it's only a sport although it has a martial aspect;
you haven't had to kill a young man and then lock eyes with his young wife
while feeling a sense of shame because you feel absolutely no remorse...
and worse...
And, yes, boxing and MMA seems to be dominated by shit-talkers
and braggadocio is almost expected, but is there not so much
more on the your personal Continuum beyond boxing?
And I am not saying you are a braggart in any way;
my advice as an old-timer is to just keep Doing.
Actions whether, successful or not, suffice.
Also, keep in mind they're many members of this forum with personal
accomplishments in a plethora of areas that go unmentioned and
may never be mentioned...at least you have the luxury of being public, Jamie.
I heard of the poster we call Felgerkarb in my neck of the woods not from this forum,
but by reputation of his deeds from my former cronies.
Although, he and I have never met and will probably never meet,
what brought him to my attention over where I live was not that he
shared a myriad of eccentric traits with me and could be a brother from another mother,
but that he was a true Man of Action, Jamie...
may I humbly suggest you take measure of his behavior.
...and if "we" are Men of Action
Words do NOT become us
...less is more.
Just my two riels worth Jamie,
take it or leave it as...
