I'm a reporter thinking of doing a story on the topic.
Nothing on the record at this point, just sounding things out right now to see how common this is, and what people use them for.
Has anyone used a private investigator

Who are you a reporter for.
What credentials do you have to support your claim that " You are a reporter " ??
Print media ?
Web Media ?
What exactly is it you want to investigate ???
Please tell us more.

I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

only commercial investigators, things such as finding out if your supplier uses child labor or checking if a company is cooking its books. political is off limits. for love stuff no idea, i guess many photograpers will do it if you pay enough.
I've always wanted to be one after reading Bangkok Private Eye.
If anyone needs anything investigated give me a shout.

Yes. For business purposes though as it's sometimes part of due diligence. There are several outfits that can dig stuff up - Kroll being pretty well known. Others fly under the radar and can deal with very sensitive issues of a higher political or government nature. Often ex cops but also ex spooks - people like Hakluyt. Err this is pretty common knowledge so as a reporter I'd expect you know this shit already.

We just get Gavinmac to do all that sort of stuff, he's great. Doesn't even need to get out of his armchair to solve a case.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
