What's this bird?
This giant was caught by villagers in Kampot yesterday. I had no idea Cambodia had birds like this. What is it exactly?

I once had a car accident around kompong Seila "picnic" area with one of those or close relative.
I never expected one flying that low and I guess it never expected a car coming that fast. It was headed for the center of my windshield but our mutual avoidance efforts had it touch my B pilar with it's wing instead.

They may have found it sick on the ground, farmers poison carcases because they consider them vermin, also very susceptible to diclofenac

Where did you get this info, Alan?
I tracked the photo to this news site:
http://www.khmer-press.com/news/647
I can't see any published date but the short "article" asked readers whether the bird should be put in a zoo or released in the wild.
Comments are then dated January 2015.
So that bird was not caught last Saturday.

Joon is correct, that photo has been doing the rounds on FB for at least a year, if not longer, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't in Kampot either.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
The article in the link reports it was in Kampot but honestly I stopped trusting sites that look too much like arey-news.com.
