Cynical NGO advertising from Sunrise Cambodia
Enough with the snide remarks, would love to see anyone in here who helped as many people as this organization has.

How can you compare an individual's assistance to a fully staffed organization's?GMJS-440 wrote:Enough with the snide remarks, would love to see anyone in here who helped as many people as this organization has.
Also, it's not Sunrise that is being slagged off, it's ONE (maybe two) individual who is, for her damaging strategy and tactics.

Juanita has set up a gofundme page to raise money for her defense. Of course.

(1) She's Aussie . Yes
(2) She is successful. At what she does...helping people
(3) She earns more than $7 an hour. She does not take a wage///
(4) She knows HE. Yep
(5) HE likes her. Nope
Geraldine was a good friend of the late king and the Queen. HE only tolerates her and puts many roadblocks in her way.
Because she has been here so long and knows where the "b" is buried an who put them there HE is cautious in his dealings.
Why do we criticise the person who does good work for the minor negative aspects/
The glass should always be half full.......................................................

Sunrise were going to great lengths on their Facebook page to distance themselves from Perry e.g. insisting to critics that she’d had nothing to do with them since November last year. That was on their Review section which they’ve now disabled because, unfortunately, they were getting relentlessly trolled by a bunch of inbred semi-literates. So it goes.Alexandra wrote:She was reportedly let go almost exactly one year after this post.
And right there you've exactly nailed the problem: self-righteous assholes who believe their good intentions make them infallible and render them immune from oversight or legitimate criticism.Arget wrote:Why do we criticise the person who does good work for the minor negative aspects/ The glass should always be half full
Case in point: this scandalous defamation racket in Australia against a 20-something year old single mum who made a pretty benign throwaway comment against Sunrise on Facebook.

I think Lucy Perry is learning from Geraldine Cox. Lucy is trying to sue me for defamation in Sydney now. Sent me a letter asking for $1k or she'll file a statement of claim for $100K - lols. I wonder if Lucy does this to everyone - I'm lawyer connected but if I wasn't I'd probably be paying. A complete piece of work. Reading the comment on Donald Trump made me laugh so hard I had to go to the loo. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks she's a con artist.shitegeist wrote:I guess the angle here is all about how to monetise white guilt and generally feeling aggrieved.
How fitting that Geraldine Cox has decided to respond to legitimate criticism by weaponising defamation law, taking a page straight out of the playbook of Cambodian kleptocrats.
The Australian law student she’s suing will obviously be fine: she was just echoing concerns about orphanage tourism and Sunrise in particular that had been voiced by many respected authorities in the field, and widely reported in the Fairfax press. The lawyers who convinced Cox into embarking on this latest PR debacle will be laughing all the way to the bank of course, but oh won’t someone think of the poor shit-smeared children who are being raped to death etc. etc.

Poor Lucy Perry aka Lucy Bloom aka Lucy Schaffler is doing it tough:

Haha - my money’s on Playboy
What's with the name changing, did she get divorced? She's literally changing her name more often than her hair color.
Actually, the childrens' parents needed to sign the release, and the release needs to include a 'sensitive use' clause in it for the model depicting the underage sex worker minor.
A sensitive use clause would allow a model's photo to be used in a campaign which could otherwise negatively impact that person. (the model).
There was quite a big case about this sensitive use topic a few years ago when a model signed a legit release, without a sensitive use clause, only to find her likeness and image used in an HIV / AIDS awareness campaign. The model objected, as the pairing of her likeness with the topic of HIV / AIDS created the impresson among the general public (including her family and friends), that she herself - the model - had HIV / AIDS and was being depicted in a documentary fashion.
Aside from the technicalities, the ad is unnecessarily over the top and comes off as somewhat sensational, insensitive, and exploitive.
