That's a brilliant idea. The Parsis (Zoroastrians) put the corpses on 'towers of silence' and they get eaten by vultures. Aren't there endangered species of vulture in Cambodia? You could build the towers out in the national parks where the vultures live. You'd be helping an endangered species and helping the deceased's family save money.Phuket2006 wrote:... cut it up and feed the vultures. ( same with the Parsis in India without the cutting part)
Once ur dead the life force, soul, call it what you will has left, nothing left.

I've been to one of those towers in Yazd, Iran. A very eerie place.

Freddy Mercury was a Zoroastrian. Do you think they fed him to the vultures? Or would they have been worried that the vultures might have caught a disease?

When all three English language daily newspapers in Cambodia studiously ignore a story of two Brits dying in strange circumstances in Kampot - despite it being picked up in the UK press - you can't be too hard on just the Kampot Noticeboard. It seems the conspiracy of silence prevails.Alexandra wrote:Isn't it wonderful when people can discuss things of community interest without being banned and having posts deleted? And yet, the English language media were all over the story of the Russian who killed the young girl in an accident like a rash.
I'd love to know how they make their editorial decisions, particularly as they all seem so perfectly aligned.

You may be a little off base there, Scobienz. Kampot is weird. It's not like PP at all. It is pretty close knit in foreign or khmer community. So I imagine that any outsider that comes asking questions will be ignored or shunned.scobienz wrote:When all three English language daily newspapers in Cambodia studiously ignore a story of two Brits dying in strange circumstances in Kampot - despite it being picked up in the UK press - you can't be too hard on just the Kampot Noticeboard. And the Khmer papers can't make suppositions like the foreign papers.
They will have to say what happened. Or do they just publish 2 brits died of ...

That Orisha poster is absolutely mad.
Positively loony-bin candidate.
How can ya have any pudding if you can't eat your meat!
WTF? Can't keep his story straight between two posts on the same day. Oh, and... "every khmer is mafia and pedo..." or along those lines...
Somebody shut him down, please.
Send him back to whatever rock he dreamt up.

She said, "Coffee, Beer, Vodka, Cigarettes and MJ?"
I replied, "Yep, that's my shopping list... ...Holy shit, that's my life!"
