Watched the video. If those motorcyclists tossed that grenade there's no way they were aiming at that SUV that took the brunt of it. Either that or he's an absolutely amazing shot. Riding along at 20kph he would have had to have dropped a round object from a moving vehicle such that it is going to blow up under another vehicle traveling the opposite direction at an unknown speed exactly 5 seconds later. I don't think so.epidemiks wrote:ElGauchoInsufrible wrote:

Dude,
If your gonna lob a hand grenade whilst traveling down the road on a back of a motorbike isn't it always safer to lob it in the direction you came rather than the direction you are going or sideways though?
Or did i learn it wrong in the Special Forces alongside Bear Grylls?

Exactly my thoughts, from TOF, when I watched the video this morning.LTO wrote:Watched the video. It almost looks as if one of the riders dropped it - possibly even by mistake? It doesn't roll/come 'from' any direction, it's just there, indicating it wasn't 'hurled' .
It would take some skill to calculate the precise moment to release if riding ahead or coming from the opposite direction to actually hit that car. If it was targeted, why drop it to be run over with a 4-8 second fuse? Much simpler to toss it under the car at a red light or something.

Yes. And even with skill, a shot like that would still require a large dollop of luck.epidemiks wrote:It almost looks as if one of the riders dropped it - possibly even by mistake? It doesn't roll/come 'from' any direction, it's just there, indicating it wasn't 'hurled' .

That said, from the video I can't see where it came from. It's just kind of there in the light all of the sudden. How would one drop a round object from a moving moto without it rolling at least a bit?
The press has said 2 people on a moto were responsible, the only bike that fits that is the two I circled.LTO wrote:Yes. At 2.72s the passengers right arm goes up.
At 6.68s the grenade becomes visible in the headlights. Doesn't appear to move or have rolled into position.
At 8.58s the grenade explodes, 5.86 seconds after the passengers arm is seen moving upward.

If he threw it straight up in the air it wouldn't roll around too much.
Doesn't help the video is was filmed off the cctv screen with a potato.

There are only two possible scenario's.
Scenario one: A crack Khmer assassination team having spent weeks in training, running through speed, weight, momentum and fuse length calculations successfully delivered their payload to the intended target with precise accuracy.
Scenario two: Some fucking numpty accidentally dropped the hand grenade after having already pulled the pin on route to the intended target.
Having spent some time in the Kingdom of Wonder (and my experience as a paid assassin for global petrochemical cartel), I'm leaning towards scenario 2.

Regardless of how impossible it may seem to the average round-eye racist, that a Khmer could actually pull the safety pin on a hand grenade - then open his hand to let the grenade fall out of it - thereby releasing the "spoon" and activating the timer while approaching a car - this seems to be exactly what happened. How about that?
And it wasn't perfectly timed or placed. So it's not the unbelievable accomplishment some of you try to make it out to be. It was just someone dropping a grenade while approaching a car. It exploded at least a meter to the left of the car + about a half a second before it should have if they were going for maximum damage.

Alcohol is necessary so that a man can have a good opinion of himself, undisturbed by the facts
It's what happened. Look at the video. What some of you guys are saying fits the exact definition of racism.LTO wrote:Sounds like unreflective bs.doktor_d wrote:How about that?

prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

Obviously I was taking the piss. I know sooner or later all comedy that could possibly cause offence to anyone anywhere will be outlawed, but until that day comes I will be taking cheap shots whenever they present themselves.
Also the key word in your definition is ALL, you will notice that I was merely playing with probabilities and left open the possibility that it was the later and that a middle age Khmer woman, a clothes stall owner at O'Russei market and an Indian university teacher were the intended targets of this crack team of assassins.
