explosions across the city

just heard 4 explosions across the city. last one was nearish to orrusey. is there a festival on? or is it the escaped mad bomber?

Heard at least 3, very loud at Toul Sleng.

I heard one too, close to Olympic Market and saw a cloud white smoke rising. No expert but the smoke looked like firework smoke, and locals aren't panicking, so Abou-Gor you're probably right with your first guess that it's ceremonial.
Nothing on local media also.

there is the opening ceremony of the games today, but they are being held in University of Cambodia and another place nearby it, the Bati center on Northbridge Street. over by the airport so not sure what the seeming city wide spread was about. sounded like small pipe bombs to me - or rather large fireworks.

Ok, Olympic is near Orrusey, so it could have been fireworks. But what I don't get is why were there just 4 big explosions? Nothing else? When they let the fireworks off at the Riverside I hear them all echoing around the streets here.

Also, that was pretty damn fine timing. All went off at once across different locations. Mobile phone?

Heard it here near Phsar Olympic. Sounded like two, quite large, though the second may have been an echo. Went outside to look. Saw white smoke rising from the direction of Olympic Stadium, but I am not sure if it was connected. People on the street seemed unperturbed by it, just going about there business. No scuttlebutt yet.

I heard one explosion or firework around 6. What I saw about 30 minutes earlier from the junction of 271 and Tep Pohn was much stranger. I was getting my tires pumped and all the people nearby were looking at the sky. There were about 4 parachutes descending, and it was hard to see, but it looked like they were tandem rigs (not sure what the correct term is). I thought it was a bit weird to parachute into an urban area, and they looked like they were going to land in very different areas, maybe around Baktouk all the way to Psah Samaki . Fuck knows.

No idea, they were really far away, they looked like mosquitoes half way across the room. Considering what's been going on recently there's a distinct possibility that it was an aerial attack by Jugalos, but there just isn't enough information yet.

Military timing then. Yes, Flashbangs would do it. There was a definate TH- WUMP to them. Along with the CNRP area boats, copters etc, is someone going through the handbook they got from a military education institution?
