Perhaps I am being dense here but I still don't quite get the complaint about APLE. They answered the phone, the spoke English and they took all your info, yes? But you didn't like their attitude? Or something more?

Trying to understand in part because I had a problem reporting something similar to an NGO here a few years back, but they couldn't be bothered to even take the info. Whereas it sounds like APLE did do all of the relevant things for you. What more exactly were you expecting of them?

Assuming the story is true, it sounds a bit like that to me too. Like he was expecting them to keep him informed or tell him their plans or, as you say, get as excited as he was, which as an ex-copper he should know that is not the way it works.

And his reluctance to give a straight and clear answer is rather suspicious. Not very Texas either.

Especially when by his own admission he would probably turn a blind eye and let a Russian-French old creepy geezer rape a 16 or 17-year old on his holiday.

So you're friends with a brothel owner in Cambodia, you and your wife have clients who sometimes travel to Cambodia, and at least one of your clients knows that you are friends with a brothel owner and feels sufficiently comfortable asking you for help procuring a 12 year old girl for sex.

I think you should tell us what business you and your wife are in, because otherwise, it sounds pretty shady.
