Is Huawei paying to suppress news of Deputy MD Kevin Weng crashing BMW into two tuktuks at 4am?

I didn't hear that Mr Kevin Weng has been summoned to Huawei head office. Apparently he's not expecting a very good reception.
My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

All well and good, but you wouldn't be able to scrape together the $500 fee that such entails.TristranandIsolde wrote:I would pay to suppress RobW, Fapping Hooligan, and RobW off my posts.

https://www.cambodiadaily.com/brief/hua ... ve-121287/Chinese technology giant Huawei publicly distanced itself on Wednesday from a crash involving a senior executive accused of plowing his sports car into three tuk-tuks and a motorcycle in Phnom Penh last week and fleeing the scene.
In response to a query on the incident involving Kevin Weng, which was notable for the disappearance of news coverage posted by Khmer-language media outlets following the November 23 wreck, Huawei Technologies (Cambodia) issued a brief statement: “Alleged traffic incidents involving our staff outside work hours are a matter for the staff, and not an issue for Huawei to comment on. If approached, we will cooperate with any official queries.”
Mr. Weng, Huawei’s deputy managing director in Cambodia and Laos, had been driving under the influence when he crashed his BMW i8 at about 3:30 a.m., injuring three men, said Chim Dyna, a traffic police officer in Chamkar Mon district, on Monday.
Mr. Weng, questioned through a Chinese translator, has since compensated the men for their injuries and was released without charge, Mr. Dyna added.

Officially yeah, but unofficially they sent Ratha Chev, Account Manager at Marketing Solutions Asia Ltd, to bribe media organizations.

Did they send him, or did Kevin? I'd assume that since he's at the top of the Huawei food chain here, he did this himself. Why would HQ be aware of this unless he'd informed them? Somehow I doubt he called up his own boss and said: "Hey, I crashed my car into three people while drunk driving at 3am. Can you guys do me a solid and get our regional marketing guys on this?"
No, he likely got "on he case" himself the next morning after he'd sobered up (though I assume crashing an i8 sobers you up rather quickly). His insurance probably showed up quickly to settle matters with the tuktuk drivers, and he likely tried to find ways to cover it up by asking marketing to do something about it. I know that's what I would do... Why would anyone tell their boss about this and have them cover it up?
Anyways, I'm still baffled as to why someone at the head of a market of 20 million people drives around in an i8. Was he head of like India and crashed a car there so got relegated to Cambodia and Laos?

I was wondering that too. That car is worth 300k in China, if you can find it.

I'd also doubt his insurance would pay out on a crash while pissed up.
Might be a good reason to want reports describing himself as such erased.
