any way to help an alcoholic khmer?
Maybe it's more accurate to say that "she thinks she's thinking like an expat"?Lucky Lucan wrote:Yes, it's fucking ridiculous. How the hell can she think like an expatriate when she's still living in her home country?newkidontheblock wrote: She thinks like an expat......Is that so hard to believe?

If she is living in a western country for one day then she'll be an expat.
Exactly this^Tano wrote:Looking just at the thread title, I haven't read all of it.... there is no way to help alcoholic anyone, full stop. When they've hit the rock bottom - they will swim or die, it's that simple.
Don't waste your time on 'help', cannot be done. You'll help no one, and will only be dragged down yourself.
Whatever you will try to help the friend of 'missus' (or you want to impress birdie?) will fail. Addiction is a tough disease, and very often one with a fatal outcome. The fact she suffered a serious medical condition already and still has not quit the booze is all you need to know. She will probably choke one night if she has another internal bleeding.
I'm starting to think it's another way for NKOTB to adulate his missus by contrasting her saintly behavior to one of her peers' .....Kachang wrote:Exactly this^Tano wrote:Looking just at the thread title, I haven't read all of it.... there is no way to help alcoholic anyone, full stop. Technically, yes. But I am thinking about expat (Western) way of thinking and mentality here.Khmerhamster wrote:Huh?Tano wrote:She is not an expat. My post was in answer to how a girl ( in general) could "afford" spirits every night. Nothing more.

Perhaps that is true, strictly speaking, as it has a broad enough definition. Does anyone actually "live" anywhere for one day though? Unless it's the first of many, that would be "staying" somewhere for a day. It most likely will take quite some time for anyone to develop a mentality where they feel comfortable living abroad and don't see it as some temporary move before they go back home. It's not like it's some amazing skill, but you can't think like a stranger in a strange land unless you are have been one.Khmerhamster wrote:Huh?Tano wrote:She is not an expat. Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Question, LL. Did you ever feel that way about Cam? Comfortable living here?Lucky Lucan wrote:

Did we ever establish if newkidontheblock is being cuckolded by that Khmer lad on his missus' FB page, or not?

Sure, always have. It's when I visit my home country or anywhere else abroad that I feel a bit weird.Tano wrote:Question, LL. Did you ever feel that way about Cam? Comfortable living here?Lucky Lucan wrote:

Believe it or not, it seems that the guy posting the over the top pidgin English exclamations of love and nursing tips on her FB page is NKOTB himself.scobienz wrote:Did we ever establish if newkidontheblock is being cuckolded by that Khmer lad on his missus' FB page, or not?
