What's the biggest thing you've seen on a Moto?
Everyone's seen some pretty big loads carried on the old trusty motorbike in Cambodia. You know, standard things like fridges, 300kgs of rice, 5 meter lengths of steel, 6 people etc. Just your usual everyday stuff.
However, today crossing the Monivong Bridge in near-gridlocked traffic heading East, I saw something big and red out of the corner of my eye moving next to me. To my absolute astonishment it was a queen size mattress on the back of a moto! Lara and I were just speechless. This guy was unbelievable - he was even getting ahead of me. We soon got a break in the grid lock and passed him, and we were talking and laughing all the way home about it.
Then I made a passing joke about him probably being a delivery guy for a mattress shop and delivering to Borey Peng Houth all the time...and normally he probably has three of them!
Within 5 minutes of arriving home, Supermoto man drives past my house at BPH with the queen-size beast on the back like he was delivering a newspaper ...

Don't mention the Giant Panda in the room.

A small cow, not a calf, but a cow of around a year, hobbled and thrown over the back of a dream.
Also, in early 2010 I rented a house on the opposite bank of the Tonle Sap and bought a bunch of furniture out near 1984 street. Two moto's, in one trip, delivered 2 x armchairs, 2 x 3 seat sofas, a bookshelf, a coat/hat stand, a shoe rack, a coffee table (glass topped) and a wardrobe (all rattan) for free (Included in the total bill of $100. They were the two than impressed me most.
Less traffic then. . .

I've seen a guy on the back of a bike is holding a massive mirror and looking into it. Added a certain artistic depth to the ridiculous roads i thought.

Damn, almost crapped myself after reading that.pedros wrote:Your mum.

A car.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
I remember seeing a moto carting some 8 foot 2x4's down Sisowith about fifteen years ago, perpendicular.
If you don't know where you're going, any road takes you there.

Nice. I am pretty sure I flipped though that book at Sundance 172 around when they first opened. Always wanted to pick up a copy but haven't seen it since and couldn't remember the title/author.gavinmac wrote:There's a book on this topic called "Carrying Cambodia."
