So you'd prefer Cambodian or Thai/Indonesian/Malaysian supervision of local mechanics ? Get real, this is excellent news for the company and its customers.
They will still likely be serviced in South East Asia using SEA engineers supervised by SEA managers, wouldn't they, even if they are wearing Air France KLM overalls and carrying Air France KLM branded toolkits?
Fair enough, I have to agree with your argument here. It is indeed an upgrade from the current surely shockingly awful Cambodian mechanics with near zero track record to compare, to "hey, we're not quite le worst in le monde ... Look! the Russians LOL (MDR) !" mechanics.logos wrote:So you'd prefer Cambodian or Thai/Indonesian/Malaysian supervision of local mechanics ? A Step in the right direction at least.
Excuse the cynicism

So who's servicing them now? Hard to believe anyone would let a Cambodian engineer anywhere near a 300m dollar aircraft.

As long as they have the required skills and temperament, I wouldn't give a rats arse what the nationality of overhaul techs are.
It isn't hugely complicated work; a lot of my friends have done this for Lufthansa for a career.
It's not like unqualified Khmer are being hired and set loose on the aircraft with half a set of sockets and some bits of coke cans to shim up worn bearing housings.

Are you kidding me? Did you check what was the cause for the accidents? Most have nothing to do with maintenance. And Air France is one the biggest airlines when considering kilometers they fly per year, so if you take that count, the amount of accidents is not that high anymore.Spigzy wrote:Guess that's the end of taking any Angkor Air flights ...

This partnership can be only good thing for a Angor Air imho.
You should watch few Air Crash Investigation shows on asian airlines and you might change your opinion There should be episodes on youtube if you are interested.Jackal wrote:
