So I'm looking at the calendar, and there's:
13-14-15 May King Norodom Sihamoni’s Birth Day
And
14 May Royal Plowing Ceremony
The 14th is a Sunday. So will most offices have Monday and Tuesday off, or Monday -Wednesday off?
Days off in May

I think the rules are:
If the holiday is a Sunday then they 'lift' it to Monday.
If it's on a Saturday - unlucky.
So I would expect that places will either have just Monday or Monday and Tuesday.
Can't see Weds being a holiday.

The Monday is an official public holiday, Tuesday is not. It looks like the poor king will have to get up early on his birthday to do the Plowing ceremony, but at least he can relax the next day.

Are you sure? I've seen in a few different places that Tuesday will be, as it's rolled over from Sunday.Lucky Lucan wrote:The Monday is an official public holiday, Tuesday is not.
Article 2 of Prakas. 466 states that "Any public holiday, which falls on Sunday, worker shall be subjected to be one day carried forward to the next day." It is, however, still up for interpretation if "to the next day" would mean "to Monday," or "to the next [working] day."
My Google Callander has it automatically showing as Monday and Tuesday and they know everything.Miguelito wrote:Are you sure? I've seen in a few different places that Tuesday will be, as it's rolled over from Sunday.Lucky Lucan wrote:The Monday is an official public holiday, Tuesday is not.

I don't know, it's not in the Prakas though:

Or Acleda's list:

But turns up elsewhere:

I'm hoping I'm wrong anyway.
