FFS! the British well this bloke invented them 'tis why they is cash machines

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Shepherd-Barron

Shepherd-Barron joined De La Rue in the 1950s as a management trainee and grew to become Managing Director of De La Rue Instruments (with a mandate to run down the company). Under his leadership the first De La Rue Automated Cash System (DACS) machine became operational outside the Enfield, north London, branch of Barclays Bank in June 1967.[3] He received the Order of the British Empire in the 2005 New Year's Honours list for services to banking as "inventor of the automatic cash dispenser".[4] Shepherd-Barron told the BBC that he was inspired by chocolate vending machines

I am no danger for ATMs, never used them in the past and will not use them in the future.

Cash machine / hole-in-the-wall / ATM for me. Never cashpoints.

YTPs role as spokesman for Brits and Irish is officially revoked.

Why the anger?
I rarely use them here but can't imagine why someone would go Basil Fawlty on one.
Are they difficult to use? Are they prone to retaining cards?
Do some just not work with international cards?

Cash machine, cash point but hardly ever ATM unless you're a fart/poo.
When I first got here I'd ask people where the nearest "Cash point/machine" was. "Eh?" Was often the response. "CASH MACHINE!" "Eh?"
"FFS, ok where's the nearest pub!"

I got an email from my bank asking why I'd not used my debit/credit card for 18 months! "No money in there!"

They are often the point where those who are clueless and destitute in a foreign country finally realise they are clueless and destitute in a foreign country. They are the wind that blows apart the fog of self-delusion. It isn't a happy time and many choose to take their frustration out on the messenger.

They are more than cashpoints
ATM stands for automated teller machines, because you can make deposits, payments etc.

It looks like the Norwegian's name is Gisle Reikvam, or something like that.

http://khmeread.com/posts/24095

He lives at Last Home Guesthouse on Street 172. The tripadvisor reviews are not good. https://www.tripadvisor.com.ph/Hotel_Re ... _Penh.html

Also, he may have failed a drug test.

Dislike. I notice expats living down the coast.on the beach get a hard time from a few PP based expats.

    Why is this?

I never knew any of them did. Until last night, when I took $99 out of a BIDC ATM in front of the orange pharmacy on St. 51 at St. 282. Nice.
