EzeCON
I've been a customer of Ezecom internet provider in Sihanoukville for over two years. About 5 months ago Sihanoukville manager Tony Byrne left and the service went down hill fast.(Word is the job he left for fell though and he asked for his old job back, but EzeCON turned him down.) When Tony ran the Sihanoukville office it ran like a well oiled watch, now its just a broken watch. Over the past four months I have been without internet service twenty-five(25) times. This includes the outage today. Since I complained about the 25 times with no service, today Ezecom canceled me or as customer service manager Mr. Chenda Heang wrote "we cannot reach your standard of level." That must mean that actually providing the service that I pay $77. a month for is beyond Ezecom. In any other country paying a company for a service and not receiving it is called Consumer Fraud. I knew when I moved to Cambodia that I was going to have to lower my standards, but EzeCON has reached new lows in standards. They say they are the "Premier Internet Provider in Cambodia." Right! and I'm the Pope of the North Pole. Also the internet speed lately has been really down. I thought when they got this new marine cable that speeds were suppose to get faster. Another con by EzeCON. Anyone else had problems with EzeCON or been canceled for complaining about non-service? Anyone know of a provider that's not totally useless?
The company changed hands about that time. Sold to a Khmer, I believe and the rumour was they would focus on corporate rather than residential business.
Apparently the white "okkna" got right shafted behind the scenes. Apparently a handshake means nothing !

And Tony did not leave he was forced out by the new owners, as was the British owner. I am pretty sure he did not ask to go back.
pew, pew, pew, pew!

Word that I got so its second hand is that Tony left for a better job, it fell through and he asked to come back. He sure kept Ezecom Sihanoukville running well. I never had a problem until he left. Any suggestions as to what company to go with now.

Not really the point or acceptable, is it? pay $77 a month for a service then go somewhere else to get it on average six times a month because the entity taking the money isn't providing it? Then they tell you to fuck off entirely.ricecakes wrote:Sorry to sound like a hipster but do u live near a cafe or....20 ?

Couple of cheap ISP on a multihoming router for about $35/month should fix your problem, couple of friends use that kind of a setup. Been fast when I have used it, much faster than ezecom in SV and PP.
try another access point.bipolar bear wrote:Not really the point or acceptable, is it? pay $77 a month for a service then go somewhere else to get it on average six times a month because the entity taking the money isn't providing it? I always thought Ezecom was more of a corporate ISP. They were one of the first decent ones, but the costs were prohibitive for domestic users. They went into the domestic market a few years ago, but are probably easing out of that again due to low margins. Just find a different provider if there are any decent ones by the coast.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

In May 2016 as I was moving in into the appartment building I just built I asked tony a quote for a corporate solution, I was replied I would get it promptly. A couple of weeks later I had to ask him again, I am still waiting for it to this day. Thanksfully other ISP were more professional.
Typical Khmer service. Once they've got your money they don't give a toss. Try getting a refund for non complience- forget it.
Complain, and they'll just laugh in your face and walk away.
To contain your sanity, just right it off quickly.

You've posted exactly the same thing on Facebook. Is it really that important to you? You complain about a shit service and then complain when they end that shit service. They are doing you a favour, something anyone sensible would have done themselves months ago.
He has a valid complaint and he probably posted on Facebook for the English-competent Khmer audience, and on here for the English speaking expat audience.
$77/month not worth a complaint? Who would write it off or consider it unimportant if someone defrauded you out of $77/month for 6 months or so?
My brother is arriving in Sihanoukville shortly to stay, and he will be needing above-average internet. I'm grateful for this red flag.
Can anyone recommend a better provider down there?
