I'd say the fact the alleged victim's family didn't want to file a complaint undermines the popular K440 theory that this is a "set up" by her parents in an effort to extort money from the white man. Also, the fact that his ex-wife is proclaiming his innocence undermines the other popular K440 theory that this is a "set up" by his ex-wife to gain custody.the chicken wrote: “Although the family did not file a complaint, it is a child rights violation and abuse,” he said, adding the family was worried about stigma.
Scobienz's source tells him that the child's story is that he sexually assaulted her while bathing her. I find that detail very interesting. If a pedophile did take a 5 year old student home for "lunch" with his own kids, wouldn't one of the ways that a pedophile might groom the girl or trick her into getting naked be to tell the kids it's "bath time," and then just separate his children from her at the time of the assault?
Certain details in witnesses' stories can have a "ring of truth" to them. A five year old who was fabricating the whole sexual assault wouldn't be cunning enough to include a believable detail like this. A Khmer cop or radio host or parent might be that cunning, but I really don't see any motive here as to why people would go out of their way to "frame" Mark Smith. There's no reason to believe he has any money, and I reject the "all white men in Cambodia are targets for false pedophilia accusations" line of thinking.
