Mark Smith, 40, had been Vice Principal of Golden Bridge International School in Phnom Penh (pictured) when he was accused of sexually abusing a five-year-old female pupil.
A former teacher who was found guilty of molesting a five-year-old girl while working in Cambodia has been told to register on the sex offenders register, but insists he is not guilty.
Mark Smith was convicted of an indecent sexual act against a minor at Phnom Penh Municipal Court on March 22 this year.
Smith, who lives at Cotoneaster Court, insisted at the hearing at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court that he would: “Prove his innocence and overturn the conviction.”
Smith was the vice Principal at Golden Bridge International School.
Prosecuting, Mr Owens said: “I understand Mr Smith is seeking to have this case overturned, but as Cambodian laws are similar to UK laws on this offence, he is required to join the sex offenders register here. He will be on it for 10 years, but can be removed if the conviction is overturned.” Smith, a father of two, was previously fined five million Cambodian Riels ($1,250), and was handed a two year suspended jail sentence.
He has since returned to Norfolk.

Guilty or not he's a 100% certified nonce in the UK now
Bringing the news. You stay classy, nas, Cambodia.
“Prove his innocence and overturn the conviction.”
Overturn a conviction in a Cambodian court? Good luck with that.
Wasn't this bloke going to 'reveal all' to CEO a few months ago?

I thought Smith's claim to his CEO fan club was that he was never tried or convicted in Cambodia. This article seems to shoot that explanation in the dick.epidemiks wrote:“Prove his innocence and overturn the conviction.”

Pure conjecture, but I imagine the whole situation about this 'world exclusive' like this.McPhisto wrote:I thought Smith's claim to his CEO fan club was that he was never tried or convicted in Cambodia. CEO Dude, on his annual 10 day Cambodian visit is sitting stuffing his pie hole with greasy pork laden pizza, spots a face he recognizes. Between gobfulls he calls out.
"HEY, BUDDY aren't you MARK SMITH?"
Mark Smith, recently out of Prey Sar, his life in complete tatters as he prepares to go home and be put on the nonce watch list for the next decade: "Erm, yeah"
CEO Dude: CEO would LOVE to write your story, in YOUR own WORDS! Whaddya ya SAY?"
Mark Smith: "Erm, erm", turns back to his food
CEO Dude: "So YEAH? OK, ALRIGHT! Promise?"
Mark Smith: "Look mate, I've got a lot on my plate right now, what with my entire life being ruined and the prospect of never seeing my kids again and stuff."
CEO Dude: "That's a YEAH then?"
Mark Smith: "Look, when I get back to England, maybe I'll write something" Turns back to his plate with tears welling up in his eyes.
CEO Dude: "ALRIGHT, HOMIE!" Wipes his greasy fingers and starts furiously punching a thread title using Tapatalk.
Mark Smith, quietly sobbing, pays his bill and leaves the restaurant swiftly.
CEO Dude: "Don't forget MY exclusive story, YO!" Then returns to the desert, before his tourist visa even begins to expire.

The kind of interview which they can’t use the contents of and need to wait until he or his dad posts the story. That kind of interview.
He's a nonce. !00% full weight kiddy fiddling nonce.
He got a sus because he paid off the kids parents and everyone else who had their hand out.
He'll never get it back into a Cambo court so he's screwed.

You forgot to highlight where he also tells him he has a fiance and shows a picture of her tricking him into thinking he was a normal human being.pedros wrote: ↑Fri Aug 24, 2018 8:16 amPure conjecture, but I imagine the whole situation about this 'world exclusive' like this.McPhisto wrote:I thought Smith's claim to his CEO fan club was that he was never tried or convicted in Cambodia. But as he was convicted in Cambodia he's now on the sex offenders register in the UK...
So I pay my friendly local police officer $500 or whatever it costs to set some guy up get him charged and convicted his noncery will be punished in the UK aswell...

There is this rumor in Cambodia that people can pay the police to have people murdered or set up for crimes but I am not aware of even one time that I would say that I believe that it happened.Go Programmer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 8:39 pmSo I pay my friendly local police officer $500 or whatever it costs to set some guy up
I believe that this is a rumor made up by people that want to make it seem like Cambodia is more dangerous than it is to make themselves look cool for living in such a dangerous place. People want to promote Cambodia as a dangerous place because it makes themselves look powerful. Criminals latch on to this rumor when they don't have any other defense, for example Mark Smith.
I think that Mark Smith heard James Ricketson's defense and decided to tag along and make it his story. Mark's defense is that he was arrested because his boss voted for CNRP, but his boss was not arrested and no other employee working for the same school was arrested and nobody else was arrested for working for anybody that voted for CNRP.
It is very strange that out of all the people working for CNRP voters, and CNRP voters themselves, it is only Mark Smith who has encountered this problem.
James Ricketson on the other hand made himself known by defaming people and flying drones and acting like a general pain in the ass, and I have no doubt that it contributed to somebody finally deciding to slap him with the book for flying his drone around without a permit.
Mark Smith is full of shit and so are those who say that you can easily bribe the Cambodian police to arrest people on false grounds. I'm not buying any of it.

You can get a lobster dinner for like a dollar so why not hire a hit-man for $100? Everyone's doing it, it's so cheap that I just get anyone I owe a few hundred bucks to knocked off.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

An ignorant sympathetic foreign audience will lap it up, but sensible people here will be scratching their heads thinking that much of it just doesn’t add up.
Just like the Somaly Mam episode, plenty believed her for a long time.
James bloody Ricketson. Now there is a name you don’t hear much of these days. I wonder what he is up to?
