2 or 3 years ago I was enjoying a beer at an outside table at a Khmer bar/'restaurant'... not a fancy establishment by any stretch of the imagination, when a bit of a commotion started up. 2 dogs had wondered in off the street and were fucking on the floor a couple of tables way, whilst another was stood at the entrance barking its head off cos it couldn't get in on the action. The staff seemed oblivious, as did the customers who carried on chatting and eating..."Cambodia", I thought, "only in Cambodia".
Noisy, smelly, irritating little creatures that nearly always spoil a nice meal out if they are in the venue.
And dogs should be banned too

About a year ago I had a new neighbor who moved into the unit below. His small dog was a right nasty bastard, probably something to do with him being one himself. Previously the house owner had lived downstairs and they had a mellow (once you knew it) Rottweiler/ Alsatian type cross. That bit one of my relations through the bars one time, but after that it was cool. This little bastard was able to get its whole neck through the bars so would try and fuck you up a lot. Sometimes I'd have to throw rocks at it to get near my door. I wanted to kill it. I complained so it was chained up and miserable for a while. Then it got out on the street and bit two young schoolkids. The owner had to pay for them to go to hospital and get shots etc. I never saw that dog again. He sold it to a meat shop. He was such a nasty cunt I wouldn't be surprised if he had eaten some of the dog himself at the restaurant, then gotten a take-out for his kids.
On the same topic, a family I know well across the street had one of their about 5 dogs bite a passing by woman on Saturday night. They are all big enough but never seemed too aggressive ( or friendly) to me. I went out to have a look and there was a woman with some pretty big puncture wounds on her calf, and she wasn't happy. Anyway, yesterday my neighbors had only two dogs left. I just asked my son what happened to the others, he said 'They gave them to the dog-meat guy".

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Never understood dog owners.
'Oh he's one of the family you know.'
Then he gets pissed off and rips the babies throat out, out of sheer jealousy.
'Well we never thought he'd do that.'
He's a pack animal, and he wants to lead the pack you idiot.

Hard to forget one night before a planned trip to Kampot/Kep, when a pack of 7 street dogs barked their heads off for 4 hours during the night, at 2 dogs on heat behind the gate next door.
It was insane, but everybody else seemed to sleep right through it. Nobody gave a fuck.

Proper dog etiquette is don't bring them to a restaurant.
Proper begging etiquette is don't do it in a restaurant.
I once stayed at the Hyatt in LA and the room had a dog menu with bowls and a gourmet menu. I should have looked into the hotel more before staying. I went down for breakfast to get a coffee and there were about 7 ladies in there with dogs, some in purses.
Attended an event at the Sohka and 1 up to the nines lady had a dog in her purse the whole night.
This isn't LA, it's Cambodia where dogs are useless, please stop it. Same goes for rescuing cats and then trying to find forever homes.
You look ridiculous walking a dog in Cambodia, so for entertainment value I'll accept it but not where I eat thanks.
The security are to blame for the beggar being bitten, they shouldn't have let the dog owner in nor the beggar.

Anyone that mentions "proper etiquette" and "cambodia" in the same sentence struggles IMO

The problem with these beggars are they are indeed invading your space and privacy.. so a dog will immediately react on it.
We humans keep looking away, also because we know we are always wrong in this country. But some of those beggars you just want to push away. They are sneaky and professional around the riverside.
Its a difficult case and a dog who bites a child is always wrong also of course. But I can also understand the dog.
