No, wait, am I able to get a 12 month gratis visa at the Bavet crossing? I'm from Hong Kong if that helps.PSD_Kiwi wrote:PSD_Kiwi has left the building...it's Khmer New Year, beer to be drunk, no time for anything that doesn't involve beer drinking
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

Thank you. This is pretty helpful actually. Even if I came to Cambodia it would be for 6 monthsLucky Lucan wrote:You'll have to check pages 1-55 of this thread. It's a difficult topic as it wasn't at all clear from the start. Any information posted by PSD-Kiwi is pretty solid.merchantsmutual wrote:I arrived late to the party. Does anyone have the cliffnotes?
You'll manage 6 months without any issues. We have an admin department who sort out visas and work permits and social security cards and what not, I don't know how anyone sorts that out independently, it must be a real pain in the assI would super appreciate it as I am sure all of you have been following this so you know the rules pretty well. If I want to come to Cambodia for 6 months to hang out, live in a foreign country for the first time, and look for work do I need any special visa?

You can get the visa on arrival for $35, and then get the 6-month Extension of Stay which is specifically designed for what you want -- hanging out and looking for work. Then, if you find work and decide to stay, you can provide your letter of employment and get a 12 month extension (and then you can get a work permit once you have found work).merchantsmutual wrote:I arrived late to the party. Copies of a company the Business License and Tax Patent are not hard to get, clients ask for them for a variety of reasons.PSD_Kiwi wrote:WP renewal application deadline has been extended until 30th April.
And the latest on EB Extentension of stays is...
With effect April 1st, when applying for an EB EOS the following supporting documentation is required;
- 1 & 3 mth EB EOS require employment letter or Business license and tax patent AND Work Permit
- 6 & 12 mth EB EOS require employment letter or Business license and tax patent ONLY. This allows you to apply for your WP, as a 6 or 12 mth EB EOS is required in order to apply for a WP.
so if someone fakes an emplyement letter from my company and has copies from my BL and tax PAtent can he actually get a visa as if i hired him?
BL and tax patent is what foreign Business owners need to provide as supporting evidence....employees just need the official letter of employment.jackrossi wrote:Copies of a company the Business License and Tax Patent are not hard to get, clients ask for them for a variety of reasons.PSD_Kiwi wrote:WP renewal application deadline has been extended until 30th April.

I tried keeping up with this thread when it first was started but haven't been able to for awhile. Is there a retirement visa, what is the cost, age requirement and is there a minimum monthly income requirement? I have decent locked in retirement plans that aren't producing monthly income as of yet until I convert them. Would they count if there is a monthly income requirement?

Thanks Tombraider. How long did the visa last? Do you have to renew and pay that fee periodically? Do you know of any official site that spells it out? Most countries have it very well explained on their embassy or consulate sites. Last time I looked Cambodia'did not that I can recall. Is that visa available on arrival and what is the visa called officially?

Yes it is annual and multiple entry- visa is imaginatively called an ER. AS I understand you would get your ordinary E visa (what people sometimes call business $35 for one month) at the airport and convert to an ER within a month at any agent. it is a simple process if you fit the main criteria of being 55+ (that was at one point the main confusion there was no consensus on the age you had to be). However, as a caveat, it does regularly seem to change so this info is accurate up to today and has been for several months. Have had several friends swap onto it and it is a simple process.TheRaven wrote:tombraider wrote:TheRaven wrote:I Tried keeping up with this thread when it first was started but haven't been able able to for awhile. is there a retirement visa, what is the cost, age requirement and is there a minimum monthly income requirement? Someone reported on the book of faces:
Legit?UPDATE:
some minor changes.
ALL non-tourist visas require a supporting letter when requesting an EOS and it must be signed and fingerprinted.
This is not a stat dec and does not require an embassy stamp.
EB extension - working letter.
EG extension a letter with details of the type of work looking for etc. (this is still sketchy)
Over 55 also requires the request letter, which was a requirement when the ER visa was first introduced.
Under 55 the supporting docs must be very strong.
That is all that has changed. NOTHING else has changed
Thank you
