You're such an idiot and the tips you give are horrible.ClubBar wrote:so silly to see people here keep defending their beautiful dream country of wonder Cambodia! just like the locals like to do cover everything up and move on..
There are indeed more robberies going on lately.. None of them get reported because the police simply doesn't do anything, you will have to pay them to do something. And then they want the money first.. and probably still not do something.. I have heard of 2 only this last month and I don't go to bars. 1 guy lost everything including passport, bag with clothes and was left on the street only with the clothes he wear. they even checked his pockets and emptied them. When he went to police with his face covered in blood, they said you pay me 100 dollar and I can see what I can do. "you better go hospital sir"
be safe people, and beware. They like to operate with motos and in team, so most of the time 2 up to 5 people. some just walking and waiting on corner to warn the robbers.
2 weeks ago one gentleman in his 30's!! was hit on the back of his head while just walking on the side of the road in riverside area! so he didn't even see it coming! than cowardly they hit him again until he was on the floor and took everything he had on him!
and this is no bull I have seen the photos from his bleeded face and his emergency/temp passport from his embassy.
BE SAFE people and be prepared! I always recommend people to buy something like this:
the problem is if we would cut the robber up or shoot them, they will almost certainly change the whole story and make you pay heavily for it and remove you from the country. There is still a chance the robbers are paying their cut to the police as well!!
If there are any people from the USA, I would like to have this non leathal weapon that would be ideal:
https://www.amazon.com/Kimber-PepperBla ... pepperball
unfortunately impossible to buy here
A good pepperspray will also be good, for example from the brand Sabre !

Not much use if you are attacked from behind is it That's why its always advisable to wear a helmet

A friend of mine (white guy, early 30s) at work experienced a mugging attempt on him and his Taiwanese lady friend last night around 9:45pm walking down st. 99 and around st. 450 in the Russian Market area. They tried for the girl's bag, and ended up flipping her in the air and she landed on her face. She was badly cut up and bruised. Don' down if it's connected to anything else or just another random thing, but passing it along. A lot of us live in the TTP area so heads up.
Cantankerous Curmudgeon
Isn't this just the usual ramp up in muggings and police stops before a major holiday? It's Pchum Ben in less than two weeks.
Yes nothing more and can be avoided with common sense 99.9% of time.1984 wrote:Isn't this just the usual ramp up in muggings and police stops before a major holiday? It's Pchum Ben in less than two weeks.

That does look a bit messy, I hope they're ok now.Phuket2006 wrote:Gf's sister and her boy friend made the news
That reminds me of why I rarely take a tuk-tuk I don't already know, besides the hassle of having to tell them where I live and the haggling over the fare.drwahwah wrote: Was told about robbery last week. Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Depends if the driver took the key before running off, if not just take the tuktuk.Alexandra wrote:Only to be beaten senseless if the victim had any balls. Did the victim have balls?drwahwah wrote:Driver Drove into waiting Robbers then ran off till bag snatch & Grab was over.

None but ourselves can free our mind.
I'm selling up and dedicating my life to this woman.Alexandra wrote:I paint my face in my menstrual blood and scream at people as I walk past them to let them know I'm ready to fight it out. If somebody steps to me the wrong way I immediately pull out my copy of the yellow pages to prove dominance and that I can reach my embassy if needed. If I have to remain in the same place for more than a minute I alterate between using motorbikes or cars for cover. If none are available I raise my arms in the air to scare any robbers away.

Even if she turns out to be a bloke.

Did the driver come back after the bag snatch and take her to Toul Sleng for $1?drwahwah wrote:
