Dear K440,
Sorry for the bummer of a message. A friend of mine from back in the olden days who was dating and had a child with a barang buddy and then yada yada I saw her in February at a St Theresa of Calcutta hospice type place (do they give medicine there?) but long story short, she probably met her end due to tuberculosis as a complication of AIDS just weeks before i have come back. Her phone wasn't working but toward the end she was always borrowing phones etc (I kept in touch with her after finding out about her diagnosis, turned out that whatever traumas set all this in motion led to a prob deliberately hastened end but who knows if she is "gone" or just in a hospital weak and without a phone.
If alive, what is the hospital that Khmer call Montipaert Anglais?? Or maybe it was the Cho Ray hospital or royal Phnom Penh (the last time it was not Samdech Eauv). If alive, would want to go there.
If she died and had no money and no family, what happens to ... the body? Where do I go to pay my respects. I've seen posts about dearly departed gentlemen here and their situation is often dealt with by a combo of family and embassy. If she is a Cambodian citizen (or something- trafficked person?) what happens. Cremation, the potter's field?
Seeing as this is Pchum Ben maybe I could make an offering etc... thank you for any advice. sSA
Know a woman who may have died of AIDS. What is the "Hospital Anglais", what happens to the body?

Yes.

*There's a Royal Phnom Penh hospital, don't know about the rest.

*Bodies are cremated, but it costs money. If she died in the Little Sisters hospice they should know what happened.

*Her family would appreciate that. But did you say there's a child involved? What's happening t

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

Sorry for the misapprehension, I'm not yada yada-big AIDS believe me- I was here and over the phone and yes sending money in a pinch etc through over two years of progression,I just didn't want to bring in unnecessary story details that might violate some peoples' privacy.
I've been dreading opening the schrodinger's box on this one... Going to call the Indian Sisters' center where I last met with her and the Royal Hospital... maybe the Ashhes are out by Chom chào where the Theresan center is (thenfirst time I met her there and she was doing well, afterward I went to the nearby gun range for the first time and unloaded a few clips... To be extra maudlin, the cityscape where we first met and firsrminhabited at the same time almost a decade ago is, like her toward the end, half recognizable, a mix of qualities that are amplified and others distorted... if she had taken medication evenly and lived healthily and used the English language and charm she used to enter circles of what counted for polite society back a decade ago (although lurking alongside that was always some basic brutal secret or secrets-) she would still be alive but she had been relieved of two children by two different fathers (the first was almost a real deal the second who knows I didn't ask questions when the Mother Superior, who sat me down for an interview to see who I wa, dropped the bombshell of child 2 (a son and luckily HIV free).
Sorry for the late tempt my own plans here have got a few snags not to mention the literal ghost at the banquet... thank you again for the info... -SSA
