HIs main business was actually plumbing. He did not die. He is very much alive after leaving Cambodia for Phuket and now Bizvegas.chkwoot wrote:That's the guy! I forgot about his pool business. Didn't know he died. That sucks. RIP.Gilmore wrote:I bought one here 10 years ago. An Australian businessman, whose main operation was installing swimming pools, was importing them from Australia, along with accessories, and selling them from his pool business, which was on Mao Tse Tung, near the corner with Norodom. He had high quality products and could arrange to bring replacement parts from Australia when needed. I assume Shanghai Bar bought their BBQ from him.
The death of that business owner was reported in the press about 6 years ago. His company office closed soon after. I haven't been able to find any other place selling gas BBQs since.

Hometop had one on the floor on MST Blvd - didn't ask price
Went looking all the likely places without luck so will probably go the Ali Express route

Oh strange, I bought my gas grill from them. Charcoal is always nice in thought, but it is so much more convenient to have gas.kgbagent wrote:Charcoal only and too small for my needsMiguelito wrote:What was wrong with the one in hometop?kgbagent wrote:Hometop had one on the floor on MST Blvd - didn't ask price

I cannot use gas where I live i shipped in one of these ;
I will get shot for saying this but the unit cooks very VERY well. I simply turn it on 30 mins before I eat to heat it up and then put whatever i am cooking on . I always cook with the lid DOWN which results in very moist meat - especially chicken. In fact - this thing does a much better job with chicken than anything I have had previously. I use liberal amounts of bbq rub - mostly imported American blends that I can buy locally. It also has a raised vege rack which is great for doing corn in foil etc.
I have to say i enjoy not getting dirty hands from charcoal or having to organise gas bottles and it never runs out of juice !

The Weber baby q gas has the A rating.
The Charbroil I could never give an A rating to purely because it is...well....electric so will always carry that stigma. But it IS good.

It definitely looks the part. Reminds abit of the Starship Enterprise.
