Batshit crazyweirdo just too stand out to be a getaway driver. It might be safer to have your personal crews to drill a hole from bottom up to the safe, and have you row it through the Japanese built drain pipes. Me and my gang will wait on the other side on the look out.

I've always got the impression thieving from supermarket aisles is far more likely to happen in the UK supermarkets than here, but security guards are far more likely to be in on theft from the workplace (or be asleep on the job) in the KOW .

In Bayon there is a staff member posted on every aisle. Primary purpose is to tidy the shelf when a customer picks up something. They aren’t exactly overworked - I’d give them the additional job of watching out for shoplifters, would actually give them an excuse for staring intently at all the foreigners.
Then me and my man bag would be left alone.

Then whatever you stole they time the price by 11, they will provide you a phone to find contacts. Failed that they beat you up some more and hand you over a prison person in charge to take your ass away. That is how Lucky market handles it with the locals.
That's how Super Duper reportedly handles it, they locked a shoplifter up and demanded $2,000 according to a local news article.
We had a thread on that but Scobienz deleted it because he's gay for the Super Duper owner.

Yeah, ‘nearly old enough’ - keep telling yourself that.
We use recycleable shopping bags here in Hanoi and everytime we go the supermarket the fucktards at the entry want to ziptie the EMPTY bag shut.
i just tell them they can check the EMPTY bag at the counter to ensure it is EMPTY and if they persist i tell them to fuck off.

They can't check the empty bag at the counter if you fill it with steaks and condoms and then walk out the door, bypassing the check out counter.
Hence the rule of "bags must be checked" or "bags must be ziptied." There's no exemption for "but my bag is empty."

There are a couple of "supposedly down and out expats" wandering the streets of PP. Lost passport, broke and all that. I see them from time to time in the mini marts and supermarkets. Talked to one of them once when he requested 2000 riel off me....got a sob story explanation. Anyway...I've seen them both at various times at Aeon Mall Supermarket and I was wondering why they could afford the high prices when both of them live on the street. The older one always opens a nice bottle of red wine and sips from it in the seating areas inside or outside in the smoking area. I know why he can afford it....it costs him nothing! Free. I watched him in action in the bottleshop area....casually slip a bottle in his open bag over his shoulder and wander out. Aeon mall is all to easy as opposed to lucky supermarkets or the mini marts. All of them have cameras in every aisle plus staff in the aisles wandering up and down. Basically to prevent theft. Aeon mall is different. I checked their security after seeing this guy in action.
Apart from the cashier area....there are TWO cameras only in the whole store. One is where the expensive cosmetics section is and the other is in the far left corner of the store in the big goods section. In all the food aisles, alcohol section, refrigerated section there are no cameras. The plain clothes security (if you are an experienced shoplifter) is a comedy act they are that obvious. Two guys always..Khaki clothing...wandering the aisles with no trolley pretending they are looking at the products. Walkie talkies strapped to their hips talking to each other and they often stop and talk to the obvious security staff in the blue uniforms. Always security wait outside the supermarket but they never check shoppers personal bags. The stealers exit is easy....walk straight out passing a nonchalent bored looking guard. There is a bag drop but it is not enforced. You could basically load up your back-pack discretly in Aeon Mall and the staff are none the wiser. Same as with the Aeon Mall supermarket in Tuol Kork....two cameras only. Aeon Mall is Japanese owned right?

Now if they zip locked customers bags entering the store that wouldn't happen. I think you should suggest it to them!Chris K wrote: I watched him in action in the bottleshop area....casually slip a bottle in his open bag over his shoulder and wander out.
