Expats doing dirty work for ngo's & governments?
How many expats are doing part-time surveillance or other dirty work for ngo's or governments?
A lot of down-and-out expats might want to extra beer money to spy on someone and report back.
Many of the tuk-tuk drivers are in the pay of ngo's and whoever else will pay them, but are the barang expats also, and to what extent?
Commonsense says yes.

Yes, commonsense certainly says that governments (and NGOs) would hire expats that need some beer money to conduct surveillance. In fact, a number of them are regular posters here:
Pedros: He's actually an undercover PETA agent investing cock fighting in the provinces.
GavinMac: He monitors the Riverside for shirtless Westerners that could be organizing a heathen nudist colony.
Violet: She has infiltrated the feminist movement in Phnom Penh to keep tabs on the spread of the #MeToo movement for a group of Hollywood execs.
BSCW: The deepest of the undercover agents here, we're not quite sure what he's even up to.
Vladimir: He's a Russian sleeper agent waiting for his orders from the Kremlin.
Hanno: He's not really a bird watcher, he's collecting info on logging activity for Greenpeace.
Alamo Cafe: That's not really a Mexican cafe, it's a hub for clandestine meetings.
Mèo Đen keeps track of the underground cat spying network from command central at the bar that shall not be named.
Harold: Azerbaijani intelligence officer searching for Nagorno Karabach war criminals.
ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ: He's gone so native he even farts in Khmer. Able to ease drop the intellectually stimulating conversations in Khmer to help prevent the next color revolution here.
Maven: The sleeper agent's undercover persona to give his sleeper personality street cred.
Yours truly: I bought this site to keep track of all of you for the CIA. I'm actually reading what's on your computer right now.

I can just see the budget hearing for the CIA: we need to pay broke TEFLers in beer. How many? Around 300, give or take, part-time and full-time teachers. Jesus, how much will that cost us? Mmm, with pull-ring discounts and old Ganzberg stock..maybe $10?
Do it!

I always suspected James Bong might have something to do with Her Majesty's Secret Service.
He seems to have gone undercover recently, not posted for a long time.

This is pure retarded-speak. Guess what? A lot of us have been here for a while and are doing ok. I don't consider myself to be doing that well but I keep bashing along, and I'm not complaining or blaming anyone else. There are a million tin-hat theories, and they are all bullshit. This silly nonsense pops up every now and then, usually accusing anyone who isn't complaining of being in the pay of the powers that be or whatever garbage. Get real, just because we manage to survive here doesn't mean we are being paid extra for that. I'm getting sick of all these moaning bastards though, I hope they all get deported soon. Fuck off, we won't miss you. Don't forget to close the door on your way out.Timeslot Enigmatic wrote:How many expats are doing part-time surveillance or other dirty work for ngo's or governments?
