Is this Site Difficult to Navigate?
I've been wondering if any other posters find 440 a bit clumsy to navigate?
For example, when reading a few pages of a thread under 'view active topics', occasionally you want to bail and look at another. So you can click the back arrow a few times or scroll to the top or bottom of the current page and hit the 'forums' link and then have to hit the 'view active topics' link again.
Why can't there be a floating toolbar that gives you one click re-entry to where you want to go?
It's not a big issue, but just seems a bit clumsy.
Posting videos on here has always been a mystical art too, but not as hard as beating bar girls at connect four.
Can the resident tech ninja help here? He's managed to book an airfare, so perhaps Scoffer has a quick fix for this...

i rarely use anything else other than the Unread Posts and Mark Forums Read option, so refreshing this periodically captures everything

By the way, this is meant to be constructive discussion, not a dig.
The other silly bit of navigation is when you click on a link and you are automatically taken away from 440. WHY?
Can't a bit of code be written so that a new tab opens instead?

I do admit that I would like a “view active topics” link next to the “view your posts” link while inside a thread. Let me ask Scoffer if we can do that.Nasty Canasta wrote:I've been wondering if any other posters find 440 a bit clumsy to navigate?

I've mentioned this before, but a "view new posts" button would be really handy. It's a pain to have to go back 5 steps and forward another few more just to get where you want.

this a very simple code hack so simple that i had written it off as a feature to push ad revenues.Miguelito wrote:

anyhow i have a bookmarks bar at the top of my browser and it has that link to view active topic in it front center. so no problem for me. login user link also saves scrolling up to the top

this, easy workaround, just set your bookmark to the desired mode, view and refresh, voilaYoun Hoo Fatt wrote:this a very simple code hack so simple that i had written it off as a feature to push ad revenues.Miguelito wrote:

exactly the way I use the site saves trawling through loads of old stuff and see any new post right away I see no need for change104 wrote:i rarely use anything else other than the Unread Posts and Mark Forums Read option, so refreshing this periodically captures everything
It annoys me that links don't open on a separate page.
