are rent prices rising?
Is it just me or has the rent prices, in the daun penh region been rising? I cant find a place on the internet for less the 350-400 usd. About a year ago there was plenty. Is there a better site to check out for low priced apartments? Or is it just better ot land, rent out a guesthouse for a couple of days, and have a look? Im just worried if i go with the second option, i would be wasting my time as the sites appear to show that the medium prices are around 300. 200 to 300 would be a better range for me.

Not sure most landlords would bother advertising on the web in english for lower priced places.
"I don't care what the people are thinking, i ain't drunk i'm just drinking"
Published prices are just to indicate the very most you'd pay. ie. where you start negotiating from.
There's no point trying to secure something before you land. Book a nice hotel for a few days, enjoy a nice breakfast, a swim, take a walk around town, chill. Check out a few restaurants and bars in areas you're interested in. Take a few motodop rides here and there and see how long it takes to get around town. Then, if you haven't already seen a million for rent signs in the gates of places in areas you'd like to live, check online on the expat facebook groups, on Khmer24.com, or contact an agent.
Standard finders fee is around 1 month commission from the landlord on a 12 month leases, so the 'better agencies' aren't going to bother listing cheap places as it's not worth their time to show penny pinchers around.
And if anything, rents are stable / dropping, from what I'm seeing. Depends on the type of property pure after.

Daun Penh is big. Do you mean Neil's Mini Mart Daun Penh, or Bambou Indochine Daun Penh?casper129q wrote:thanks will do. so i should forget the sites and just land and look around.
