That's de rigeur in methy phnom penh. Besides, he was fucking lying like every other damn hustler in the scene! They want your money! Then they go piss it on girls and pretend they're poor, pretend they're designers, pretend they're anything! Scenesters!Just Saying wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 9:51 amI remember Tanguy being fairly desperate prior to this incident, owing money to at least a few places or people and I remember thinking this guy should've never gone here and unfortunately I was right. At one point he had an odd looking (but otherwise friendly and nice) Swedish guy living with him, until he could pay him back for some drug deal gone awry - I might be wrong, but I was convinced they both were junkies of some sort.
Seemed doomed to fail from the get go with these two, but it's still sad to see lives wasted like this . . .
One does not live with room mates in Cambodia and pay mules thousands of dollars to retrieve coke from brazil. They were probably fuck/drug buddies.
This isn't hard, people.
If you have roomates here, you mentally exist in a type of rebellious bourgeois summer camp. Oh yeah--hipsters.
Besides, isn't K all the rage now?--not that, Plebian, ice.
See you in Hell

I mean there is usually a way, if you have the money or connections, to outweigh the heat on you and your sentence. But you actually have to have real connections a lot of people talk a big gain cause they went drinking with a policeman once.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 7:30 pmHarsh. With sentences here is there anyway to get them reduced? Any pardoning ever happen or perhaps some expensive legal magic?

A life sentence in Asia is usually between 20 and 25 years. So, until the system here is cleaned up, these guys will always try, and sometimes succeed, buying their way out.
Used to be possible to bribe judges in Taiwan twenty years ago, for example, but you needed big money, like fifty thousand dollars. Nowadays, bribery has ended in almost all judiciaries in Asia, except probably here in Cambodia, Nepal, India, etc...
Maybe, another twenty years will have to pass before buying your way out with a likely story and cash becomes impossible here, too...
These morons would be better off asking to transfer back to their home countries to serve out their sentences... This would give them the option to appeal for less time...
Basically, unless you are a former president or prime minister in crooked Japan, Taiwan or South Korea, getting out of jail early is impossible...

David (40) reportedly died of a severe asthma attack in his Cambodian cell. They tried to take him to a hospital, but the help came too late.
RIP. His mother is going to be devastated.

Interesting letter here: https://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20211115_97158145
Does that blanked out name in the letter refers to David DW who, according to a previous post on pg4 of this thread, took the first flight outbound the moment David C got busted?

One wonders if it really was asthma. Far more likely to have been pneumonia.

Why are we supposed to give a fuck?
Good riddance to the peddling scum bag.
Good riddance to the peddling scum bag.
David Catry was not a scum bag!
I don't condone the peddling and all the misery it creates selling hard core drugs to other people.
David Catry was naive getting involved, for whatever reason, but the real scumbags are still out there (and one in prison).

It does refer to DDW, who got later busted in the Philippines.
