What's the point in having native teachers if you get non- natives to write the text books?
Answers: Any way you look at it - money.

Oh, and "Examples" should be singular, not plural.

This book is for state schools which don't employ naive-English speakers.Oldnews wrote: What's the point in having native teachers if you get non- natives to write the text books?
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
That just kind of adds to my point, as Vietnam does. And are you really suggesting that the government shouldn't use native English writers for its English school text books?Lucky Lucan wrote:This book is for state schools which don't employ naive-English speakers.Oldnews wrote: What's the point in having native teachers if you get non- natives to write the text books?

Not at all, I'm just stating that the books will be taught by non-native speakers. The ministry generally only employs Cambodians. It would of course be a good idea to get a native-speaker who also knows about time-lines to edit the books.Oldnews wrote:That just kind of adds to my point, as Vietnam does. Except it isn't deemed a shortcut in NZ.
