RIP Hurley Scroggins
Just heard the news, Hurley passed away aged 57.
A lot the newer expats might not have known Hurley, a few might have heard of his bar, Cantina, or maybe some of his work as a journalist.
Those of us that knew him, will remember someone special, kind and unique.
RIP my friend

Goodbye old friend.
Another legend has gone. 57 isn't that the perfect age for a Cambodian Expat to die? Let's be honest though he looked 70 and had lived life to the full, plus he had an extra five years.
I will raise a glass to your memory mate, say hello to Snow if you see him. Cheers

I only met him a few times, interesting guy, didn't realize he was only 57, RIP.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Well good bye Hurley, you lived a full life and you'll be remembered longer and more often than most, "Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end..."

57 does not seem full to me one bit.
RIP, Hurley.

Sorry to hear about Hurley. A few of us used to meet up for nightcaps, etc. at a hole in the wall place on Pasteur Street after he locked the Cantina at night. Met his mom a couple of times when she was visiting over the years; nice lady. I always enjoyed the food and the music he played there at the Cantina, and I would always bring him a bottle of top shelf tequila when I came back from my trips to the US. He had quite an extensive selection of tequila there at the bar, but it was difficult for him to source the good stuff locally. Enjoyed hearing his stories about the UNTAC days, although he didn't talk about it often. Last time I saw him he had moved down to Snooky to open a place on the beach there, and he was doing some movie prop/technical work with the fledgling movie industry in Cambodia. He was indeed a kind soul, and was the only person on the riverside that would allow "The Captain" to hang out in front of his business. But I would have sworn Hurley was much older than I am (and I am 61 now), lol...
