Bringing my gf into a hostess bar?
The natural extension of the No vote is:
Don't take your girlfriend to a Hooters bar,
Because we all know you are only going there to gaze at big perky breasts.
And you should never take your girlfriend to the red light area in Amsterdam - even though it a major tourist attraction.
In fact, never take your partner to any place where men cheating on their partners might be exposed.
Since when are my choices on where I want to go and who I want to bring with me based on the risk that some stranger , who is unknown to me, might be recognized by my partner and compromised by actions that he is trying to conceal from his partner.

I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

Damn that rules out a lot of places. Don't let her go to the bathroom when at a restaurant, in case she sees a friend and a floozy exiting while they adjust themselvesscoffer wrote:The natural extension of the No vote is:

I’m finding myself agreeing with Violet AND Scoffer. This is giving me a headache.

No, it isn't; that's the hysterical extension.scoffer wrote:The natural extension of the No vote is:

Etiquette dictates that one breezes out with a casual air, leaving said harlot to deal with her ablutions and returns nonchalantly to one's seat, perhaps pausing briefly to appreciate a poster advertising an upcoming sound healing night in the TTP area.
Women should wear a burqa when leaving the house so that they cannot be recognized. To make it less confusing we should ban them from leaving the house alone and driving so a woman is always accompanied by a man in order to easily identify her husband, father or such. That way I can bring my woman without snapping slavedog half way out of heaven.

Call me crazy, but Slavedog made a compelling argument. Hostess bars should be a place for men to relax in, much like a strip joint in the West. You’d only bring your wife to a strip joint if you both were completely pissed - maybe that same rule should apply here. If your girl is so drunk she’ll forget, then you can bring her, if sober, it’s males only.

"We, the sons of John Company, have arrived"
I appreciate the various opinions posted so far.
My take on the "No" vote is that they are trying to defend what they see as male privileges or male territory.
But as to why they would consider Hostess Bars exclusive to "Males" eludes me.
It's a bar that serves drinks, the service ladies might, under the right circumstances, offer a bit more than a smile or a flirting glance. So what.
They also serve drinks to tourists just looking around, local expats just going in for a chat with friends, expats just happy for a chat with a few ladies they know or others wanting a bit more personalized service.
Why should your need to defend and exclude a specific gender from your places of entertainment force me to change how I interact with my partner.
If someones fear of getting caught cheating on there partner is driving the "No" vote.
They need to reevaluate their current relationship.

Do these girlfriends want to go to hostess bars? I'm trying to imagine how it goes:
Man, "What shall we do tonight, girlfriend? How about dinner at Malis and then that happening new nightclub you mentioned."
Woman, "Oh no, boyfriend. Please can we go to Hot69 bar on 104 again. There's something about the smell of those things they put in the urinals suffusing the place I really like."

It probably eludes you because you see Hostess bars first and foremost as bars, not as knocking shops with a nice facade.scoffer wrote:I appreciate the various opinions posted so far.

None but ourselves can free our mind.
How can one put this delicately....they might wish to go if it's an environment that's familiar to them.....?Lol Nol wrote:Do these girlfriends want to go to hostess bars? I'm trying to imagine how it goes:
