Well not actually moving - not in a million years after seeing the place, but I nipped over the other week to get a Thai retirement visa for me back pocket.
I thought it would take at least a week but it was done and dusted in 24 hours, 15 month validity (I arrived with an 'O' 3-month visa, and they banged the 12 months onto the end of that).
So just a recommendation for a brilliant outfit that sorted it all out seamlessly: https://www.speedy-visa.com/ Very responsive to email etc.

Thanks for the tip. Did you think your SEALS years expedited the process, perhaps due to the abundance of existing pre-clearances?Lol Nol wrote:Well not actually moving - not in a million years after seeing the place, but I nipped over the other week to get a Thai retirement visa for me back pocket.

This was a first retirement visa. I don't think I'd have been able to do it on one day with no bank account etc.
Renewal, I will do myself.
